hey guys just got cained in the pits

got booked for being 20 mm too low, changed everythng over but i didn't clear it cos the peanut i bought the car from dented the chassis rails when he jacked the car up.

can anybody recommend me a place to get this done, is it a mechanic or panel beater job?

cheers guys

Well you can't have it on the pillar, on the dash above the steering wheel, behind the steering wheel on the column or below the dash where your legs are, as these are all 'crash zones'.

Legally, just throw it on the centre of the dash like what some HSV's or FPV's have... That's legal. Otherwise you'll get hassled.

mines on top of the steering wheel column in front of the dash but not obstructing the cluster. Been through regency 3 times with it, no problems. even had one inspector shake it to make sure its bolted down...

mind putting a pic up?

curious to see where exactly it is lol

booked in for regency this friday at 10 am. ill be getting my old man to take it through, yup, im playing the parental unit card.

stock suspension is in, stockish wheels (with brand spankin new rubber) are on, borrowed a standard exhaust and fitted that along with my standard cat, standard boost solenoid is hooked up, diff has been cleaned to within an inch of its life, gonna give the engine bay a degrease and spray today or tomorrow, then im off. fingers crossed.

Thats where mine are. He was about to tell me to take them out on the spot but then noticed the velcro and said they are fine.

So i guess u can have them on ur dash. I just carry around my old defect notice if anyone asks.

Hey luke bit of topic but what brand gauges do u have and they are 60mm ye?? I need to buy some for my gauge holder on my pillar but i can only fit 60mm, and urs look sweet i have been looking for the same colours.

what other gauges are you running? 34's already have speed, RPM, oil pressure, oil temp, water temp, boost, volts

passed relatively trouble free. only faults were the seatbelts not retracting properly, but he was happy with those because they still locked when he yanked on them.

and the windscreen washer which worked perfectly when i checked everything this morning didnt work come inspection time, but the inspector put that down to water restrictions. :domokun:

dude was a f**kin champ.

he laughed at the boost gauge defect, but the reasoning he gave for the wheel defect was pretty sound. apparently people have a habit of taking to their wheels with a drill press to make them fit, and considering some of the calls ive had about my wheels, im not going to dispute that.
