yeah his name is neil and he know iron chef (kristan) didnt help that i know kristan though thought itmay have helped. my gfs grandpa is the ex police commisioner (peter alexander) but i didnt know how to say i knew and see him reguarly to help the situation out, ohwell herd this guy has a hard on for people all over glenelg do 1km over the limit and your sure to get pulled over by him. funny how the cops were fighting over who was going to give me the defect...

none because he said i wasnt a wanker about it and i played his game - truth or dare - fair wierdo if you ask me, didnt even know what he was looking at half the time, straight past all the ebc shit under the bonnet...

ahaha yeh he is a dumb bastard, threatened with all these fines then acted like a smartass, i had a big gt30 topmount and he looked at everything in my engine bay and said everything looks STOCK here ahahh

hahaha so whats the deal if you actual put all the stuff back on and he does see me again and pulls me over?? im not going to put the boost controller or the power fc controller back in the cockpit so that should keep a bit of attention away?

They check gloveboxes and engine bays, centre console, ashtray.. its pretty hard to keep a street legal car without totally compromising.

I've built mine for 100% street legality over the years (Got over mid 5 figure reciepts on labour and parts so I'm no dodgy backyard rambo mechanic) but I imagine I'll be pulled over by an ignorant cop one day. Most of them, 99% of them I would imagine, are excellent (I've been pulled over twice, rego/licence/breath tested and then sent on my way without a hassle) however its only the 1%'ers you hear about (heh - bikies and cops - whod have thunk it?)

If you think you're unfairly targeted, make sure your car is as roadworthy as possible then challenge it via the CAA amd the police ethics board....

Oh btw you'd need a LOAD of disposable cash to pay for lawyers - or you are amazingly vindictive and dont mind bankrupting yourself to own the system

either way you lose. welcome to rannistan

the stupid thing is when i had my Skyline i was getting pulled at a rate of once every 2 weeks sometimes evenmore whilr driving to wrok at 3.30 am down torrens never once was i questioned about my car or was looked over for defects just a license check n rego check told them where i was going n they were fine, but as soon as i drive home in daylight while driving normal i get pilled over n drfected

lol rann has done loads of top stuff for SA and pretty sure he has changed nothing on the police side of things.

ROFL

Thank you. I have't had a gut-laugh like that in a very long time.

Cheers

If you still have rego on it, than from what I understand is that you can only drive it to a place of repair and back.If you have no reggo left, than you will need to organise day permits to drive the vehicle on the road. Last time I had to get a permit they ask you for the roads that you will be taking and if you get caught on a road not mentioned in the permit than you are going to be impounded and reamed.

URGENT! hey guys I got 0 hours to drive the car so to get my car to a workshop etc can I just drive it or do I have to go into a police station or what? Bit confused :/ cheers

Call the regency hotline for a 100% correct answer, but if it is still registered you are allowed to drive it to a place of repair.

All good cars still got rego an found out I cab drive to place if repair thanks for the help guys

so my car went through regency today, was completly stock off the show room standard but it still didnt pass, apparently controll arm bushes have wear on them (is this even a problem?) and there was a split on the cv boot wich it had went it went through regency earlier in the year to get plates and was never a problem then!! so is this bullshit or what? anyone else had this issue??

They aren't brand new and hence have mild tears and cracks in them, hence they are are not compliant.

+1 - if thats all they got you for, you'd be laughin'.

And once you replace those items I'm sure you'll be impressed how much firmer your ride is

Sucks to be charged a 2nd time by regency. That is simply wrong (considering all the tax us road users already pay)

Got defected last night on West Terrace. Did me for turbo timer, boost controller & exhaust too low to the ground. Got a bit more than that to fix before I go through regency & like a lot of ppl I wasn't driving like an idiot.

Think I might have got this Neil bloke ppl have talked about but he put his partners name on the form so not sure, was definitely a pom though.

Are you mr rb? If so, saw them pull you over, I saw that they were following you and could sense that they were going to pull you over, was kust hoping that you spotted the unmarked car behind you and continue to drive sensibly, which you did, unlucky but.

    • @Ozdavroz Not going to get a better deal than that. Cash up front and ongoing payments. 🤑
    • I wouldn't even move it like gTSBoy is saying. I'd seriously do what Duncan is saying. Unplug the injectors, and unplug the fuel pump.  Pull the spark plugs out. Have a look in quickly with a bore scope if you want. At most, you can't spray a bit of oil into the bores so there is lubricant in there while you crank it. (Don't fill it, as it's only going to enter the exhaust, or spit at you out the spark plugs holes. Before cranking the engine on the starter, after a 5 year sit I'd probably prime the oil system manually. Easiest way to do so is to look at buying an oil filter relocation block, fit it to the engine. The pressure line going into the engine on this block you can then shove into some sort of oil pump, or put it into a bottle, with that hose going to the bottom. Fill bottle up with oil. Now seal the bottle and add a compressed air line to the top of the bottle. Feed compressed air in, about 20psi will be PLENTY. This will pump oil through the motor. Be aware, it also means it will drain back to the sump, so make sure you don't end up over filling the motor Now bolt the old oil setup back on (or fully install the remote filter system).   This way you've at least pushed fresh oil everywhere, then you're letting the motor crank to then do its own oiling. Then I'd tap the key to make sure it can start to crank, if the motor free bumps, then I'd just hit the key and let it crank. After letting it crank and seeing you can get real engine oil pressure, put new spark plugs in, reconnect the fuel system electrics, and send it.   Additionally, you can look to remove the fuel feed line to the rail, and divert it to a tank so you can get the bottom of the tank shit out, and just incase there's some crud sitting anywhere that gets passed the fuel filter (or is already ahead of it).   If fuel injection at the injectors ends up appearing to be a problem, you can dump the injectors into an ultrasonic cleaner for a quick flush clean out. Note this isn't as good as new injectors, or getting them pro cleaned and flowed
    • All I can say is, that's still bloody awesome! No plans on caging it I'm guessing?
    • It seems you'd like your Skyline to go to a great home, that can keep it as a beautiful museum piece.  I feel I can provide the perfect place for it, however, I'm not sure I can justify so much money for a Skyline that has only been crashed 3 times. Due to this and market prices, would you be against me buying it for $100.00, with $60 to be paid upfront, and the remaining $40 to be paid annually in equal payments?
    • I did say no low balling (Insert copy and paste article from Motor mag with complete history of R32 GTR development and racing history here)
