It's not covered in stickers :)

No GTR spoiler.

When i get it i'll post up some pics of the engine bay, it's unusual looking but very tidy and very stock looking.

Car hasn't got chrome rims, ain't dumped to the ground either.

IMO it looks sporty. Not really RACE like.

If i get defected then it's err...back to stock i guess :)

the engine bay mate if u know a skyline engine bay there is about 4 things u can notice a mile away.

- oil cooler

-front facing intake plenum

-aftermarket headers

- pod filter

not knocking it at all just making sure u know that (most) cops know them things if they have seen and skyline engine bay.

get a daily :)

This is going to be the daily.

I got little experience with the RB25, but out of 6 cars I went and saw this one's engine bay looked completely different. If I do buy it I will take pics.

Front facing intake plenum? what is that? :S

And i know pod filters are obvious :)

Okay guys. I just read through 18 pages of this.

Is it really as bad as it seems? I'm a P plater currently and will be driving a 33 soon...

Engine Mods

*TO3-4 turbo

*G-ready plenum

*Injectors

*Headers

*GTR intercooler

*GTR fuel pump

*Oil cooler

*Double plated clutch

*Up graded brakes

*3 1/2 inch exhaust system

Cheers,

Aleks

r31 gts-r manifold...?

and yeah, the only car that is sleepier than that is mitchs [ RB26 ]...

if you noticed on some other rb25's they have the cross over pipe that goes across the motor! that's the plenum and cross over pipe! and i've never seen a manifold like that on rb25's before! anyone know what it is? or if it is a r31 manifold?

this is what normally a rb25 stock engine would look like

I attached a photo.

G-ready plenum ? that's what it says on the add.

Also further questions,

Where can I get an emissions test done and what happens if i fail it but am not currently defected?

Cheers,

Aleks

emissions can be done in a few places. i got mine done at sinergy motor sport buy why do you need it done???

and clean up the engine bay to keeps the cops happy. the cleaner your car is the less chance of having them ream you.

Don't you need to pass an emissions test to engineer mods such as injectors/turbo?

im fairly surely exhaust mani is GTS-R from an RB20DET-R.

hi, just spent the last couple of hours searching around how to bring an interstate car into SA. Register the vehicle in your name interstate, then here you just transfer it over or take it Sturt for a VIN before the interstate rego runs out.

Now to my question which i couldn't find.........

What would happen if you left the interstate rego plate on full-time and they pulled you over and try to defect your car ? would it get sent to regency or would you have to get inspected in the state that its registered in ?

Technically you live and your car is registered interstate, what is the situation about getting defected interstate ?

pretty sure you cant get defected on interstate plates as its out of their jurisdiction ?

wrong Mitch doesn't matter where the car is from or going it can still be defected

if an interstate car was defected here you would take it over regency and if it was defected in its home state whilst transporting it here you would just take it over regency also

    • Reasonably hard, although I haven't run it with the new Endless setup yet. The old brakes were F50's on 335mm rotors and the car did a 1:40.6 at Phillip Island which is a reasonable time, I'm seeing high 600s on the temperature paint. A guy I know ran the Endless fluid at WTAC without issues and he was doing 1:33's I think (Evo) with a 355/332 setup. I don't get out to the track as much as I'd like but we put the car on the hoist and spanner check every bolt and re-paint mark everything, bleed the brakes, change the fuel, check the coolant system and re-bleed blah blah blah before every event. Motorsport is expensive, RB's are expensive so a couple of hours before an event is time well spent. It's also a net time saving because if you can keep your RB from self destructing it saves you time in the long term!
    • Welcome Alice......hope you have a bit more luck from here on! What was done in the build?
    • Hello! I'm new here, I have an R33 GTST that is currently being finished up! Last year was pretty rough, blew two stock turbos so I decided to build the car. Has been down since November, but I get it back next weekend!
    • Hello, I believe my car was imported to America in the 2000s by Kaizo Industries. Would anyone be able to help me find more info on them? I've only found all the basic stuff like that paul walker bnr34, them being shutdown by feds, just stuff like that. Any help would be much appreciated, thanks!
    • I am using Motec M150.  I am not working on the car myself actually.  My workshop is giving all these info, they are quite reputable in the industry and are very familiar with Motec and RBs and have done a few big setups with VCam and single turbo on RBs.  In fact, they built and tuned my engine from day one.  But they are stumped with my engine at the moment and cannot work out how come the compression is so low with the VCam. They told me that they have now swapped in some Kelford cams (without the VCam) and can achieve around 130psi compression and the low end torque is better, but now the engine is doughy as.  It boosts and peaks at more than 1000rpm slower, with twin HKS GTIII RS, it doesn't get full boost until over 5000rpm. I have always thought the VCam was a bit disappointing at the low rpm. To a point I had to ride the clutch a fair bit to get up a small hill from stand still.  That was when I had a clutch.  Now changing to a 8HP, I don't have that luxury and this problem has become a major issue. I am beginning to think the VCam never work since the day it was installed.  Maybe it was just sitting at the most advanced point, that is why it went good at top end but very ordinary at the bottom.  Therefore, with the help of the Holinger 6 speed and paddle shift, as long as it was moving, it drove pretty good.
