DaGr81
Ok I did a search and it seems everyone gets low to 0 psi oil pressure when they have problems but mine jumps! When I'm decelerating ( cruising to a stop in 4th ) the pressure jumps from 60psi to 75 psi quickly then comes down to a normal range and sometimes it jumps from 60psi to 90psi (within .5 of a second) when accelerating slowly while other times it doesn't , (have just changed oils trying a castrol one but I normally use motul) also at idle sometimes on the saber gauge it shows 2 - 10 psi of pressure but the stocker shows 2kg/cm^2 Anyone have any ideas what this could be Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/246954-jumping-oil-pressure/ Share on other sites
DaGr81
It also jumps up and down while I'm cruising at 70 jumping between 75 and 90 psi without any variation in throtle Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/246954-jumping-oil-pressure/#findComment-4291864 Share on other sites
Risking
Buy a better quality guage and see what happens The only mechanical part that can cause that is the pressure relief valve sticking but not likely. DaGr81
It's Been working fine until recently when I gave it a good squirt down the m5, have had the gauges since June, engine check light or any other light doesn't come on either maybe I'll get a mechanic to check the pressure with whatever method they use, but I'll be extremely pissed if it's the gauge! SECURITY
check your wiring, also check the gauge's pressure sensor. VDO do good reliable gauges. good quality, good price and there is a shop in marrickville in sydney last i saw.
