All ash is saying is to be careful. If people are contributors to SAU and are part of the official state club you can trust that they aren't going to stuff you over. I would have no problem EFT'ing money to them. But giving money to someone with a small amount of posts that you dont know will probably end up with them dodging you.

As long as you learnt your lesson now and hopefully it wont happen again.

so u go and meet everyone before you buy stuff off then then???

uve never bought sumthing off sumone u dont know huh????

also alot of people on here dont have trader rating coz people are lazy and dont leave feed back so that is no way to tell if sumone is genuine or not

99% of people on here are genuine honest people so its kinda hard to spot that 1% of shit people

ive learnt my lesson now to always use registered post and for those who said i was stingy on postage, i was told a price for the goods and i paid up, nothing was mentioned about postage details because everyone i have ever known has sent goods via registered post so assumed that that was the way it was being done

Using registered post still wont stop someone ripping you off and doing a runner with your cash. :)

I've purchased many many things over the net from people i don't know.

However, i use COD or other safe methods if i am a little suspect of the user due to low post count, not a lot of activity in the community and so on.

Get them to send me a copy of their drivers license etc etc. Such simple and basic things can be done to protect ones self.

Even asking someone interstate to go and pickup and post down to you. Might cost you an extra $30-$40 for someones time (if they are willing), but it can be worth it.

End of the day - Its buyer beware.

The amount of PM's i get about people being ripped off...

Only to find they EFT'd money to some ones account and thought that goods would just arrive is amazing.

People are not honest. People will take advantage of others when the chance presents. That's just how it is.
