Hi guys wondering what would be some of the better oils to stick in the VQ35 when i do a service on it in the future

I live in Townsville and its freaking hot up here... as in the car will say its 33deg outside @ 8:30 in the morning :) so Im wondering about what viscosity I should go with

Car currently has 56xxxxK's on it and I have no idea what oil was put in it during compliance :S "hopefully not home brand" or if the oil was even changed @ all

By the way where the hell is the oil filter! and how the hell do you get to it?

Theres next to no room in the V35s engine bay compared to my old SR20 180sx or my AU L6 falcon!!!

Hi mate, the recommended oil for all temperatures is 5W-30, but since you are in such a hot environment, you can go 10W-30 no worries.

And the oil filter can be accessed underneath the car, just checkout the pic below:

Cheers dude,

Are people on here going mineral or syntheric in their cars?

guess it depends on how big ur wallet is feeling @ the time?

wow...correct me if I'm wrong, but that filter looks nice and easy to change!...woohoo! (was a bit woried about that!)

I just need to get the 'type number' of the filter unit now!...lol! (umm...Z### ???)

I've always used Helix grey (synth) in my other turbo lines...and, like suggested prior, I want to change my oil asap, as I will then be sure my new ride is right...(not full of Home-Brand)!..Cheers!

Hi, Just to let you know too, there is a clip on the oil change for G35 in YouTube. Just type oil change for g35, it will show you the steps you need to take. It's pretty easy, you don't even need a oil filter wrench. As for oil. I use the best from Castrol, the red labeled one, 0w-40. it's $69.90 from super cheap. It's made for Prestige sports car, with a grade 4 rating, unlike the white labeled, which is 5w-30 (grade 3) which is more for 4 cylinder cars.
