Hey Guys,

Just returned my S2 RB25DET cefiro to stock. Removed PFC, Z32 AFM, Injectors, Turbo. Replaced these with stock items.

Now the car only starts with the AFM unplugged. It starts for like 1 sec with it plugged in.

I have checked:

All fuses

Swapped the AFM.

AFM wiring?

Does any body have any ideas?

Do these need to be plugged in? Hard to tell because of the engine conversion?

Is any body on here a mechanic or have the know how to come and fix it I would pay :)

Please help

Sam

ok a few quick things.

are you running a series 2 ecu and afm? i am gessing they are your old ones anyway?

second. the car requires the right signal from the AFM to keep the engine running. this signal is bypassed by the ecu during engine start by the start output of the ignition switch. that would be why it will start then dies. if you have changed back from a z32 AFM the wiring is different on the plugs than stock AFM plugs. is it possible that the wires are in the wrong pins on the stock AFM? or it is a possible faulty AFM? so try another one to make sure.

hope that helps a little.

Thanks Damo, at least that isolates the problem to the aif flow meter.

I have tried another one but I will get an ECU pin out and check the air flow meter wiring again! Can any body tell me if the air flow meter has a fuse or fusable link any where :)

Thanks in advance

Sam
