V8 V R33 Gtr

hi i do under stand that this is a skyline website and i my self have a skyline and it is my pride and joy

but just putting a hypothetical out there lets say that u were offered a R33 GTR for free stock and no strings attached

but then the person giving u the car says that for free they will put a V8 like the ford aluminum 4.8L DOHC or GM small block that is similar u get the idea

would u keep it stock or will u get the V8

quite a few things against this 'hypothetical' from where I stand. firstly, if I was looking to improve the GTR's performance, I certainly wouldn't go to a V8. remember Bathurst '91-'92,and the other Group 1 races of the GTR era?. secondly, unless the person doing the conversion is better qualified than the Nissan engineers who created the GTR than I wouldn't let him attempt to modify what is already a great package. Nissan could have used V8 power in the GTR when they designed it: even with the '08 GTR, they didn't go with a V8. and thirdly, if the car goes down the radical conversion route, it would seriously depreciate the car's resale value.

I'd stay with the RB26.

I would seriously LOVE to see a skyline with a Holden 5L motor, I wonder if its even possible

theres a 33 in perth with an LS1 in it, weighs less than the 25 that was in it.

Yeah there's a few Skyline LS1 conversions getting around, im talking all iron Holden 5L here.. That or a turbo version of the Patrol 4.8 litre petrol motor!

LS1's aren't the same engine as the 5L.

I got a GTR because i hate V8's. So i would hate to see a V8 in one thats for sure.
