as stated in title does anybody know if there is such thing as the hks cam gear only made for exhaust side or inlet side??

as somebody i know wants to sell me one but states its only for intake side??

as far as I know sprockets are identical. You buy one or two, and use them either which way.

but what do I know.

As far as im aware only SR20's have them identical where as all RB's are different on the intake and exhaust side because the intake cam has a bolt going through the centre of it where as the exhaust cam has 4 small bolts around the outside.

EDIT: I just looked at some pictures and the intake aftermarket cam gears have the 4 little bolts on it aswell, yet the intake cam has a bolt that goes through the middle, so whats the go with that?

they are NOT identical they have a hole that holds them in place and they are located on different places of the wheels. there is also written EX and IN on them

Yes they are different. For starters the camshaft dowel hole is 180 deg different from intake to exhaust.

Just buy the right ones for your application (so you will need 1 x Intake and 1 x Exhaust).
