depends on how much...if it's a small amount you could almost try to run it out of the system by constantly diluting with 98ron...it'll probably blow black smoke until it clears out, probably have to baby it.

If it's a lot you're best to siphon it out I think rather than take the risk.

edit: when I say 'small amount' i mean TINY.

ouch!

hope it wasn't much....

this killed a mates car when we were teenagers... his mum borrowed it and BANG

i'd try NOT to drive it anywhere :P

So this wont any serious problem to my engine, i also accidentally tried to start the car and then now the car wont start

accidently? lol not good man how much did u put in there?

a little bit over half

i would get it all out of there if the car didnt start should be ok cos they have fule return lines soo flush it out and get a new fuel filter then put 98 octane in and see how u go make sure u empty the fuel lines to

I am curious as to how you accidentally inserted a diesel fuel pump nozzle into the smaller unleaded hole of your fuel tank snorkel.

Also most diesel pumps have a manual trigger that you have to lift or push, after removing the hose from it's location, to start the pump.

And after all that why would you "accidentally" try to start it :).

- Syphon the tank and replace fuel filter

- Fill with 98ron

- Prime the engine 20 times: Turn key to "on" position then back to "off" or "acc" (do not "accidentally" start the car, by turning key all the way to "start")

- Syphon tank and replace fuel filter... again

- Fill with a fresh batch of 98ron (may also pay to pour a bottle of injector cleaner into the tank before filling)

- Prime a few more times

- Then try to start the engine and see what happens

One thing for sure it's going to be an expensive lesson, good luck!

Was that one of those Diesel Ultimate pumps from BP? They really should change the colour of the handles... Ultimate and Diesel Ultimate are both blue. I park up at the diesel one once but it does say Diesel Ultimate on the handle.

I'm also miffed how you managed to fit a diesel nozzle in.....theyre designed differently for the "life challenged" people out there, if you managed to defeat this safety feature you truly are king.
