You guys seem to be smart enough, so I was wondering if I could run something by you. I am getting rid of my 500whp Galant and thinking instead of getting a 240sx with a RB30/25 hybrid. The guy says he bought and had the block built in australia, and that the car was put together right. I was hoping you could look at the parts list and give me some pointers as to what questions might be the right ones.

Thanks.

I love my 240 and would never think about selling it but ive run into some serious money troubles. Its pretty much done expect for a little body work and to get painted. The car Runs and drives great with no problems at all. This is not my daily driver but could definitely be used as one without any problems at all. My costs into this car are well over $13,000. I know im not going to get near that much out of it.MODS:

here's a couple thing i noticed;

Rb25de head cleaned,

Rb25det s2 cams (retains VVT)

Greddy Intake Plenum

It has to be a RB25DET head as it still has the VTC.

Also that doesn't look like a genuine Greddy intake manifold, it looks like and eBay copy.

K, I will make sure to check on that. I appreciate the advice.

I have read a lot of threads on here, but I was wondering if someone could summarize for me if this motor will be able to hold 450-500rwhp with a GT35R turbo and a standalone EMS. I am mildly worried about the internals.

Thanks guys...

Internals would hold that, how long... its hard to say >_<

There are a lot of examples holding that power, and at the same time there are some that get a bit rough.

Given its been a fresh rebuild, if the rebuild was decent then it should be ok.

I just have an issue with running 370rwkw on stock pistons, you dont get any love if there is a hint of detonation.

Yeah, i figured that a good tune on a dyno keeping 11.6-12 afr should keep it from detonating. If all else fails, I'll just run it on 116 all the time, as I only drive these cars on the weekends and such. Still, if I could do it on pump gas I could have a little more fun. I am just used to the 4G63, which will take about all the crap you can throw at it and keep ticking (The 500whp pull was at 35psi, on race gas with all forged, though.)

Guy told me rebuild was done in Australia, and he has reciepts. I will see if I can find out who did it... see if anyone knows them.

I have an RB25DE head on my 25/30 (My new head too) and it has VCT. And no, I didn't buy it from some confused "loon" who claimed it was a RB25DE head, as I also have the rest of the motor to go with it... :)

If it were an RB25DE head from an R32, then no, it wouldn't have VCT, but the R33, and R34 RB25DE heads HAVE VCT.
