Actually he should use 2 pots as the gearbox oil would be different heh

I always start the car up and then by the time I've loaded up all my things its been about 2 or 3 minutes but I never let it idle over 5 minutes. It's no good to idle an engine, even at traffic lights where you wait for ages and the oil pressure drop. I'll blip the throttle in them cases. Also taxis last forever not cause the engines are never stopped, its cause the engine oil is always Warm.

Warming up a car (letting it sit for a few minutes) is useless, unless you have had your car in storage for a few months.

Cold start: I wait about 15 to 30 seconds depending on how cold (wait for oil pressure to build up) - then drive off slowly and keeping the engine revs low, until full operating temp.

Warm start: 5 seconds

With my car...i warm it up for about 20seconds..reverse out and take it easy etc but the factory water gauge doesnt hit the normal warm mark untill about 10mins later and about 5km

and thats with me having driven up a hill, up and down streets, and even gone on the motorway for about 3km

So is there possibly somthing wrong with my thermostat? or is it usual for rb25det r33 to take this long to warm up

Oh and i know the factory water temp gauge isnt the best at telling if the cars warm or not and theres also oil temp to consider when a car is fully warm, but am just wondering here...
