Double trigger on timming

I have read in a couple of places that RB's ingition using double triggers ignition, causing timming lights to show double the actual timming on timming lights, so the unweary mech's turn your timming down retarding it to some weird setting. Is this correct? any info on this welcome...

if the timing light pickup is placed on the wire in the reverse direction, you get a reading much higher than you should.

this is the only wierd thing i have seen with some rb25 engines

My Autelec was using a profesional light, the wierd thing is that he retarted the CAS fully and his light showed 18 degrees
