How To Tighten Up Gear Knob ?

Hey guys,

Im driving about and shifted into 3rd and my gear knob spun around . I was looking how to tighten it . Its the factory standard one and has two clips on either side but i have no idea what they are for. I read on G35driver but there is nothing there.

Any help would be grand.

Also another question what does OEM stand for ??

Are you talking about Auto or Manual?

Auto you'll have 1 clip on the bottom of the gear that holding it down i don't think the gear knob can spun around.

all i do was just turn it around as a screw until it tighten, there isn't a pin or what so ever.

can we assume you tried turning clockwise the same way you would tighten anything up before someone calls you somethign along the lines of an idiot . or it a cruddy aftermarket one ? try looking around the base of it it might have 3 2ish mm grub screws that dig into the stick if its really crud . or it will screw on like a standard 1

Yes it has grub screws how do i tighten them. Yes i turned ot clockwise it just keeps spinning and spinning.

you need an allen key for them.

so it has an aftermarket gear knob?? that funny because the gearknob is attatched to the "leather" of the gear boot. can you take a pic

It doesnt look like a aftermarkte one . But i turned it clockwise until i cant turn it anymore and its upside down. It has two things on either side looks like adjustments you can see one of them in the photo.

thats the standard one

you might of compltley threaded it if it is not tightening up when you try to screw it in properly

you can put some nylon tape on the thread, keep on adding it until the gearknob ends up tight the right way up.
