Got a R34 gt-t atm that has a microtech hard wired to it and after having lots of issues with black smoke and generally running bad i went to vern at dynolink in townsville. Got it running heaps better but still not 100%, he recommended switching to a Link ecu for better boost control and other nifty stuff. Just wondering if anyone has had much experience with this brand of ecu and whether it worked well for them.

Cheers

Although from what you are describing the tuner is quite possibly to blame for your problems, for informations sake I am running a now phased out base model version of the plug in Link (GTSLink) and my car runs really well with it - the new G4 series links are very very good, there are a lot of "high end" track/drift/drag and street cars in NZ running them already and tuners/owners alike sound very happy with them so far.

^^^ agreed the link is very good, i have ahd no issues so far and they are worlds above many of the other ecus at the same price, in fact i like the link better than haltech. The link cant be too bad as other respected ecu gurus now sell them as vipec.

i believe your microtech is an older MTX model without even "Matrix" mode ..... ie it has 15 odd load points , no rpm correction except WOT RPM off set ... and cruise corrections ..... IE Bloddy hard to make a nissan run nice with......

I currently run the original GTSLink also , but am awaiting arrival of the new G4 plugin to replace it.

The new links are a pleasure to tune, and have some really great features..... Either way you wont know your car afterwards ! Terrific investment.

    • Just something I found searching for more info on Emotion R, apparently the ECR33 Skyline GTS25t was either originally black, or there were two of them, the black one being the original demo car, then building a white one which was part of the 1997-onwards (to at least 2008!)
