Was cruising down heathcoate rd moorebank when a green SS and a yellow XR8 come flying up through the traffic the XR8 slows down next to me gives it a rev then looks inside to see my 8 year old daughter starring back at him from the passenger seat, he then dropped down a gear and floored it to catch up to the SS, Shortly afterwoods i was sitting at lights when the SS and XR8 pulled up after doing a blockie and to my surprise the were cops with lights on the dash and plain clothed.

I suspect they thought i would race them and make a easy bust.

BEWARE

Why beware? Anyone with half a brain would realise a XR8 or a SS Commodore could potentially be a cop car. I have no sympathy for someone who gets booked like this, if you have something to prove do it on the track.

there the boys with 000Racing decals on the rear windows...obviously a take on 888Racing from the V8 supercars.

them behaving contrary to traffic laws on the road is disgusting...but anyone who is a wanker enough to get sucked in by them deserves it.

Lol I had one of them F6 typhoons or whatever their called trying to g me up the other day, kept coming right next to me then dropping back a bit then boosting the hell out of it and flying past me. When we were both stopped at the lights I noticed his lights on the dash.

I had one of these try and race me the other day, i thought it might have been a police car because it had lights and signs on it, the spike strip at the front was effective in attacking pedestrians...

Got to love top gear, the original anyway ours is poo.

MR CASSBO, On the above topic, I guess you cruise around doing 60 in a 60 zone and no taking off from the lights with a little bit of enthusiasm. I thing you took what i said as i wanted to race, not so, if your near one of these cars and take of a bit quick I'm sure they will say you tried to race them.

We have a black SS ute in Canberra who baits you as well. Sat right up my butt for miles, others have said he tries to g you up at the lights.

As for video... I say youtube would make the ombudsman take a good look.

There are more than just these two cars out there doing this. I actually got done the other night by a green XR6 (I think) turbo. I was on my bike and stopped beside them at the lights. Illegal tint so I couldn't see inside. I took off as normal, which on a litre+ bike is a lot faster than a car. The car beside me accelerated hard to stay with me to about the speed limit. First thing that goes through a bike riders mind when a car does this is 'get away from me', so I accelerated away. I'm venerable on a bike and I don't like dickheads driving like tools anywhere near me. Secondly there is a side street that comes onto the street just past this intersection so I didn't want to be out of sight, slightly behind this car, which is where I would be if I slowed down instead, as this is a dangerous position to be in if a car comes out of that side street.

So of course I accelerated some more and kept a good distance between myself and the XR6. It occurred to me that it might be a cop car but the illegal tint, illegal fog lights on and strange driving made me think otherwise.

All that said; I broke the speed limit and I got done. I had all my points previously as it's a long time since I've done anything wrong so I lost 3 points and $81 for <15 over. As the cost and points are low I will not be contesting it.

Just another hazard on the road really. We already have to watch out for so many so now that we know about this one, we can avoid it too.

I dont really race on the road anymore i still give it a hit every now and then. but ive always had this thing if a holden ford or a camry comes racing up behind me or is baiting me at the lights just ignor them cause theres a good chance they are cops. especially if they stick or tailgate you

    • I much prefer that to an actual oil pressure issue, never would of thought it would of been a volt drop issue but SAU brains win again. Guess ill be turning down the oil pressure limit for the track and hunting some grounds. Ill hopefully update this thread with some high oil pressure and solid ecu voltage logs.
    • You've just discovered a really good reason to tell yourself, yes, I do need to buy an aftermarket ECU. Put the MAF in the bin. Slap in the new ECU and have a think about what turbo sounds you prefer.  Do you want a 90's style BOV wooosh? Do you want a hektik tsututututu?  Mate, can't go wrong. Just gotta get that ECU and the world is your oyster.
    • Hi. Iam just curisou about this topic. I saw this video. It is about Greddy Type FV2. I know that BoVs are about that sound but how and when to use it? I read some topic here and from what i have understand on stock RB with MAF there will be some "problems" if you use this BoV? It vents the air in to the atmosphere and the MAF on stock car needs this air back in to the intake and not out? Or is it wrong? If so...i saw you can put some adaptor to circule air back...but does that not "loose" that sound? I saw another BoV from Turbosmart and it has two "exhaust" like ports? One is for the stock tubing for letting air back and one is for "sound" and let the air in the atmosphere? Can someone please explain? This is the Greddy one:  And this is the Turbosmart.     THANK YOU!! EDIT: So i read about this topic some more and i if i understand that correctly: That Greddy can function either like BoV or 100% Bypass valve? And that Turbosmart is what they called hybrid so you can adjust what and how many air can be vented out or back in? Is this right? THX!
    • That dirty voltage drop is the culprit I suspect
    • i cant get them all in 1 screenshot unfortunately as i just dont know how to move things around tbh, but they are all from the same log and the line crosses at the same point for all of them
