Electric Seat Problem

Ok,

My drivers seat on the 300gt won't move backwards anymore only move to the front. Posing a bit of a problem coz when the wife drives, she moves the seat to the front and when I hop into it, I can't move the seat backwards. Any manual overide?

Don't think there is a manual override. Sounds like burnt out contacts on the switch which can probably be cleaned up. Perhaps need to remove the seat to get at the switches though.

mine was doing something similar. turned out the switch was clogged up with coffee or something, it was cleaned out and works perfectly now!

maybe thats all yours needs?

Thanks for the advice. zei20L can you tell me how you got to the switches? Does this involve removal of the whole seat itself or does it just pop out?

the dealer did it for me. and i believe he said he had to remove the seat. i think its only 4 bolts and a few plugs. cant be all that hard

but when you put the bolts back in, be VERY careful you dont strip or cross-thread the bolts.

The problem fixed itself today. I can now move the seat backwards intermittently so I guess the switch is getting a bit clogged up. Will leave it for the moment.

On the other hand, my airbag light kept on flashing today..anyone know the correct sequence to reset the airbag light? I've read somewhere its a combination of turning the key on and off a couple of times and also opening and shutting the door a couple of times...

Ok, if anyone has the flashing airbag light problem, I can verify the below method works to get rid of it courtesy of g35driver.com

To reset the light, you must turn the key to on, watch the airbag light stay solid for 5-7 secs and as soon as the airbag light turns off, turn the key to the off position (you have to turn the key to off before the airbag light starts to flash, or you must start over). You need to repeat this 5 times. Try to start the car, and hopefully the light will be reset
