Im about to paint some engine parts using vht engine enamel in gloss black. The back of the can recommends to use a vht engine enamal primer (SP-148) but sprints, motor mate and repco all VHT suppliers dont stock the primer and say its usless, so will it be safe to use without primer???

Cheers

Dave

yep no primer required, but do clean the pieces really well and prepsol them for the best result.

I've done cam covers, rotors & calipers all without primer and they've held up well... Though be sure to sure heat resistant paint for cam covers as well...
