That will cost you $800 to high flow to 450HP.

hey guys im currently running a r33 series II with Blitz Cooler LM,turboack exhaust, turbotech boost tee, apexi pod filter.. would i be able to boost up the turbo more higher?like say 14psi or so. or would i need to tune it with a computer..

Yes it will still cost $800 to high flow as its basically using factory housings on a new Turbo core. So you might want to send in a cheap blown one to do the high flow. The ATR turbochargers has no issues to handle 25psi. But factory turbine housing can only hold 20psi.

Bit of a n00b question here...

I have been running a RB25 turbo on my RB20 at just under 1 bar for a while now. So that would be approximately 14psi (I know people are going to say I am not meant to, but I have not had problems so far and there are mixed opinions on this)

Would highflowing it, which would only give me another....say 6psi of boost....really provide THAT much of a power increase? Since the housing is kept the same, and the internals are upgraded, wouldn't this mean the volume of air which can be moved would stay the same? Or is there more to a highflow than I thought...

Once again, excuse the n00bness of the question.....

It will involve honing out the compressor and exhaust housing's to accommodate for larger wheels. Larger wheels means more volume of air is pumped. More air means more power.

Ok, so they are larger wheels, not just stronger ones which can handle more punishment...

The ATR28 450HP profile we made 255rwkws on a CA18det, RB25 should be making towards 270rwkw with excellent turbo response.

these seem to be quite similar to my setup which I have had for a few years. Tuned with all the right mods and its consistantly making 270rw kw and has done so on a number of dynos hub corrected and roller so i'm confident its about this figure. I paid like 1k back then, pushes a good 1.2/3 bar and has done for some time now. I really like the response and I'm sure this would be similar.

Ok, so they are larger wheels, not just stronger ones which can handle more punishment...

First of all we have to use bigger wheels to flow more air. We use aluminium compressor wheels and Inconel steel turbine wheels. All parts in the turbo are specially designed for high boost, and we warranty that for performance applications. So yes they are lot stronger then the stock turbo.

do you guys have a turbo that is say comparable to the HKS GTRS?

looking for the most response possible, and maybe 230-250rwkw

also highly interested in a bolt on solution to twin rb26 turbos, as well as dyno or pics and specs

    • I don’t really have any ideas how to set the timing on the CAS 😂, sounds like the top, sounds like it maybe misfiring as well as ticking,  got the box sorted 😌, must of been a air bubble on the clutch side
    • Use a 2' length of hose (that's 2 foot, not 2 inches) as a stethoscope to localise the source of the ticking. From cam covers? From exhaust or turbo manifold gasket? From injectors? From lower down in the engine? Etc. Use a timing light to set the timing. Put Redline Lightweight Shockproof in the box. It's not the very best thing for the box, but it will take a box that refuses to engage a gear with other oil, and make it engage a gear. I had to put it in when I installed the R33 box I have in my car. It would not select ANY gear when running. Smurf jizz made it work. That was >10 years ago and I still use it. I'm stuck with it now. Failing that - rebuild the box.
    • Well done Duncan. The fuel tank bulkhead lid is also in great condition (some of mine were stuffed). These are now out of production and good ones like that are becoming hard to come by.
    • Wow that's a steal, you've done well there.
