my dad got me into these cars, he's always owned nissans. and were huge fans of the group a skylines!

although the push to buy one came from one of the guys i went to tafe with, he took me for a spin in his 32 and about 3 months later i had bought a skyline >_<

I was never really interested in skylines in my child-hood.was always into the bent 8s etc

my mates all bought imports and they started to grow on me, then the opportunity

to buy my old 33 come up, at a stupidly dumb retarded price, of 9 g lol

6 g on mods/repairs later, i was sold, they really are a fantastic car to drive.

will never, ever go back to an aus/euro built car.period.

Always liked the gtr since i was about 11ish, 32 was and still is my favorite. I couldn't afford anything great when i got my licence so had the good ol' EL falcon for a whole 2 months before I grabbed myself a ford laser tx3 turbo. My bro got me in to them as he had (still has) one and I loved driving it. AWD 1.8 Turbo no computer controlled bs, was pure driving at its finest. Couple years down the track it was time to sell up as the old girl was getting a bit too old for me.

I went to riding my motorbike for 6 months every day rain or shine saving up for an r33 because i liked them for their engine and simplicity, and it is more comfortable for a taller bloke. Then I spotted a decent r33 for sale cheap. Went to see it thinking its gonna be a complete thrashed out pos but turned out to be a very straight car that needed a bit of tlc. $5,800 later here I am. Ryans service done, and $100 set of r33 gtr shocks n springs and shes going hard again. :P

All the money I've saved up on top will soon be put in to modifying this beast, I just gotta make my mind up on all the details.

3-4 years from now id like to see myself in a clean r34 gtr... the 32 will always stay in my heart but old is old and best kept to those that can constantly keep it up to spec.

Oh and back in year 8 my ex girlfriend's sister's friend drove me home from the movies... in a black R33 GTR V-Spec... I was pinned to the seat and it was bloody awesome! It was my first time in a Skyline/Nissan/GTR/something so awesome

this is gonna sound so lame lol

i had liked the look of skylines since about 2000 was when i really first noticed them....

but in 2006 Tokyo Drift came out on my birthday.........i walked out of that cinema with the total intentions that i would now finally get my butt into gear and get my skyline...............i nearly brought an r33 a couple of times.......but the day i had seen an r34 was the day i fell in love...and thats what i wanted but they were still quite expensive ($25,000 +).....at the time and looking through HPI i saw in ad for an imported in vic that had r34's from 17,000!

so i called him up and he sent me some photos of a few r33's and one lil white r34..........she was auto and non turbo.......i didnt really want a turbo car anyway and my limit to spend was only 20,000.............i really wanted a black, red, ywllow or blue r34 but the guy couldnt get one in...so i thought about it and though about it.... this was in july that i saw the ad..........went to the bank....got money and 2 months later the lil white r34 was in australia...............and on the 28th September 2006 she was officially mine!

i have never looked back im soo glad i got her and im hoping that one day ill get another r34!!!!!

I really noticed them in the days when Skaife and Richards whipped everything else out there and have taken a liking to them ever since. Really liked R33's when they started showing up here in Aus but didn't want to pay the premium (insurance that is) for a coupe turbo. Around 4 weeks ago I finally went f**k it and bought my first skyline and absolutely love it, no regrets except for the fact I didn't buy one sooner!

I used to have an N14 Pulsar & through PGA I found out about the Stagea (a girl bought one for a family car). I remember thinking 'that is the mummy car for me!' - 3 years later as a mum I have my Stagea! We looked around for a while for an S2 for sale & really wanted a RWD manual, but realised it was very difficult, especially for our budget. We started looking at Chasers & 4 dr Skylines thinking we would have better luck finding a car in our budget, but we ended up importing a RWD S2 from Japan thru a friend & it was landed and complied just in time for the arrival of our new addition.

I wanted to have a different car to the usual family car and I wanted a turbo having driven a 1.6L NA piece of poo for a long time! So that's why I got my Stagea :P

I had heard about skylines a few times during high school, didnt really pay much attention to them cos i was a Holden nut, mainly cos my best mate and his parents have mainly had Holden's. A few years ago, a mate of mine bought a R32GTR, took me for a spin in it and i fell in love with it. A few years later i went to tafe, a friend that i made there was into imports and we talked about them, he swayed me more towards them, then i got a job and most of the guys there drive imports. I bought myself a VS Commodore, great car for starting out with, however the guys at work have me a bit of shit about it, but i still wanted a Skyline, mainly cos im the type of person that likes modifying things. So i saved up, then a i started looking into pricing of cars on the net, and importing one. I was thinking/wanting to import a R34 as i wanted something newer than what i had, and a R32 was older than what i had. I wanted one for my birthday this year, however the financial crisis hit and the aussie dollar fell, which meant importing a R34 was out of the question, so i looked locally for a R33 which was within budget, found a few, rang one person, it sold before i could look at it. I rang the other person, looked at it, drove it, and i fell in love with it, got a mate to drive it, he said it was good. So 1 week before my 22nd Birthday i bought myself a 1997 R33GTST Series M-Spec, i havent looked back since, i love it.

On a side note, i am having my rims repaired this week, so my car is currently up on car stands. I am having to drive a VR Commodore to and from work for a few days, i was shocked at how i was driving something similar, they are heavy, sluggish, and hanlde like crap, cant wait till im back in my skyline.

thought the car would get me laid heaps, but no honestly fast and furious had a lot to do with it, and seen them around and loved the sound researched bout them heaps, then when i got an appreticeship i brought my car even though its non turbo awd f*ck it still pulls pretty hard and its louder than anyone ive heard, lol. and the price range against other cars is awsome.

Years ago when imports started creeping into the country I went with my brother to look at a DR30 at some backyard importers house. the car was a bucket of shit, shit interior, f**ked gearbox, etc etc... so he didnt end up buying the car. but i started researching them on the Internet and really wanted to buy one, so after I got my part time job I saved and saved.

I was also fortunate enough to live near Tom Monkhouse, so saw his beast driving around the streets, there was also a clean DR the same as mine in the area, it sounded tough as nails.

Unfortunatly the few DR's that came up for years were pretty expensive, with rust, crap interiors or other problems. I then thought about getting one imported, but then gave up on the idea of buying an import. Then one day at my brothers house, his friend mentioned their other mate had a DR in his shed that had been sitting there for over a year, I should make him an offer because it was ment to be really clean example, I had remembered breifly seeing it once before.... Before I had even inspected the car I brought it.... It turned out to be the cheapest one I had seen over the years and the best condition also the colour I wanted, same interior and wheels :P

here she is 2 years later

It started for me back in 1997 when my parents went out and brought a brand new series 2 S14, they put a filter and zorst on it, plus swaybars and up'd the boost. My parents even let me have a drive of it when i was on my L's and i fell in love with turbo power. I waited till i could get insurance on a turbo before i went and brought my own turbo car, was looking at all sorts of nissan turbos, test drove some S13's, but soon as a laid eyes on my 1989 R32 GTS4 about 4 years ago i just had to have it, it was a total stocker with low Km's and drove awesome as they come with GTR suspension, so the rest is history. spent way to much money on it now to even consider selling it.

always wanted one. saw em a lot in mags and videos on youtube, saw the first one in the metal when i was at highschool, probably back in year 8, 32 GTR flooring it on the main road at the back of the school, lots of wheel spin, gate, limiter, snap second, repeat. awesome. first ride in a skyline was in that very same car, was constantly pinned in my seat and in awe.

after that i drove various friends 31 GTS-X's, 180's, s14's and s15's (which were still around $40,000 when i drove one) and thinking; "these things are f**king awesome and i want one." then i started getting into the vip side of imports, celsior's, cima's, and crown's on fat wheels grinding rails.

got a job at the casino a couple years ago and figured it was time to buy a car, celsior came up for sale for the wrong price but i still got it. it was a bit of a bucket, dumped about $7k on it and it was then pretty awesome. after a few months with that i decided i was tired of cars, it was time to sell, and maybe buy a GTR. sold it for f**k all, and then figured i was tired of wasting money on cars, the celsior had almost killed my passion.

got a call about 6 weeks later from a bloke i used to work with at the casino, he works at a car lot these days, and he told me about an s14a they'd just had traded in, told me how much they were gonna sell it for, and i said id be in to look at it as soon as i could. went in a couple days later and theyd already sold it. to a wholesale yard. so i had a quick look at it in their backyard, thought it was pretty awesome, and gave the guys my card to pass my details onto the yard that purchased it.

half an hour later i got a call from the new yard, had a quick 5 minute conversation where i basically said i know what you spent on it, and im not paying anymore than that. he half agreed, said he'd look at the car and get back to me. got a call back about 3 hours later, we agreed on the price of $9,500. what they spent on it, and they even had it professionally detailed for me, how sweet. spent the next 4 days getting finance organised, went in on a monday with the cheque to have the owner of the yard tell me they'd been offered $13.5k over the weekend for it. awesome. handed over the cheque and drove it home... well, drove it to work. couldnt wipe the grin off my face. i was ecstatic, in one 5 minute drive this car had restored my passion for all things automotive.

LOL well back in the day i was in love with the old muscle. My dad owned and re-stored a LC GTR XU-1 and yes its nothing compared to the cars these days but being driving in that car made the hair on my back stand up. Years later we move house and i leave school and my cousin buys a 33 takes me for a drive love the car but didn't think i could afford anything like that. Then adam (slammed 32) rocks up at my house with his 32 4 door, blow off valve and all and im in love. From then on saved all my pennies working my arse off at Hungry Jacks being a burger boy and alos while working fulll time at my current job till i had enough dosh.

The first one i looked at i fell inlove with stocker with low k and only kit and wheels had been modded, i bought it around a year ago and have never looked back
