This happens with top end cars all the time...

Esp audis, they just wait for you in your carpark or garage then demand the keys...

what do you think they had been using for the ATM blowups? a brand spanker RS4, carjacked from a guy that just parked it in his "Secure" garage in rushcutters bay... It got in alot of chases and the cops called it off because they couldnt keep up... Pitty the idiots blew the airbags on it when they bombed an atm lol smart guys!

lol

so was the Lexus black, or the driver?

Dunno! Who can tell at night-time anyways??? lol

And NYTSKY, as a noob, I find the show 'Law & Order' very educational! - perps indeed

Poor Lexus, if it does end up involved with ATM explosions it might 'Die Hard'

You see, I learn a lot about Collateral Damage, Dying Hard, Executive Decisions, Changing Lanes from the idiot box eh?

It is a worry seems every month there is a car jacking similar to this.

I lived in new york for years most recently last year and there were FAR less car jackings.

Ok lots of random shootings in bad areas over drugs, yes, but nobody was going to take your car

grand theft auto style! and that in a city of over 10 million people.

of course in 1992 in new york, things were very different:

Trust me to be Dyslectic about the Number Plate VXW169!

Failed Kindergarten because I'd get tired near the end of the alphabet.

The REPORT says that the Lexus went off in "an unknown direction" Sam.

I guess if I was shitting myself after looking down a gun barrel, I'd be thinking, "Which way did it go?"

That was about the time when Rudi Julianni took over as the Mayor of NY, and Police Commisioner Kelly must have been under him.

"Zero Tolerance" became the order of the decade.

But even if Sydney is next-to-nothing compared Johannesburg in car-jackings, it's still a worrying thought to drive a 'target car'.

It certainly is a natural reaction for a driver to pull over after a 'bump' to exchange details. And at night, it's hardly likely you can make out who might be in the car behind you.

This is the same M.O. that got Dr Victor Chang killed!!!

well thats the scary thing Tezza......

especially your car...your R34 GT-R wouldve been a prized catch of the decade for them!

and theres nothing else to do you see but to drive off or get out to exchange details.....but you dont know who is who in the car.....what if someone legitimently bumped you?

well what will you do if someone bumped your car at night after work, and your car being a relitively expensive car to own and repair?

i was thinking about this incident.....pondering......."hmmmm a convertible lexus?...i dont know any?"

now come to think of it.........

shieeeet........thats the lexus SC430

im not sure all of them but i recall seeing a price tag on one of the models for $162000!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

f##$ing low life, waste of precious air........human trash

The bump from behind has been happening for a while. Carjackers were using it to defeat factory auto-locks, as cars with them generally have the doors unlock in an "accident" to make it easier to rescue the occupants.

this is totally messed up and I reckon it's about time our court/justice systems had an overhaul. Too many times scumbags like this get away with a slap on the wrist, even if it's GTA with an illegal firearm.

We need to start mass imprisoning idiots, imposing huge fines and deporting or Sydney WILL become a complete cesspool

this very thing happend to the editor of hpi or zoom or auto salon

full write up and all he had key pad entry on the gtr he had

few "middle eastern" his words in a blue wrx bumped him from behind he armed the imobiliser

they chased him for a while on foot he just left the car there and threw the keys in a bush as the car is useless with out the key pad code

ran to a near by house and bashed on the door until someone answerd and called the police

    • Strength. And on the early RB26, full engagement of the pump drive.
    • I really don't understand the point of aftermarket oil pumps if your particular engine doesn't need more oil pressure. As far as I can make sense of it the problem seems to be cavitation from sucking air, maybe the pump gear design with how it interfaces with the OEM crank, and maybe the backing plate screws wanting to loosen themselves. How does flowing more oil fix these issues?
    • More photos are up, and the price has been dropped to $16,000. It's just had a service and a new 12V battery, too.
    • I agree on doing some better than factory pistons, rods, and oil pump. For anyone using the vehicle on the road, I don't get why everyone wants big cams. The stock cam profile, with some more lift would be mint for road usage. Everyone going big cams and then wondering why it isn't as responsive in traffic, when they've shifted the torque curve upwards an additional 1000RPM. Make torque, at lower RPM. Sure it's not as cool as claiming "500KW" and revving it to 8,0000RPM, but that same torque 2,000RPM earlier... Then you don't need the extremely high end pistons and rods, and blah blah blah.
    • Personal experience. Those f**kers burn. And are actually a PITA to put out. Next time I walk down the back, I'll snap a photo of what the inside of the bonnet looks like when that thing ignites. PS, powder fire extinguishers are useless on that stuff too as it's fibrous and when it ignites, it starts to pull apart. And you end up just blowing powder through a sieve effectively.   Like the big thing is, if it's fire resistant, it's job is to stop what burning? The METAL above it? It's just to try keep heat off the bonnet paint work.
