Guys have an R34 GTT tiptronic auto about 200rwkw. It is in tip top condition (at least was) and the trans has been serviced regularly.

Over the last few weeks whenever it rains and the roads are slippery, if you get the back end out a little (or any sort of sustained wheelspin) the car suddenly goes from whatever gear it is in to first gear and won't change out of first (max speed about 40km/h). The only solution is to stop, put it in park, turn engine off then on and suddenly car is fine. I noticed the A/T light flashed on the dash when I restarted the car.

This has happened about 4 times now, any suggestions?

Anyone?

Ran the A/T diagnostic - I get one long flash then 13 short ones. Going off the manual this either means "13 judgment flashes = malfunctioning unit and circuit" or "Shift control unit"

hey bro. i had a problem with my 34 being stuck in 4th. odly enough i could change to whatever gear i wanted on the dash but the car would stay in 4th.

turns out my solanoids were rooted.

cost me bout 700 to get fixed.

could be the same for you? just take it to a mechanic and get him to run a quick plug in diagnostic
