ha...Poida my uni workshop lecturer would have pressed the big red kill switch and been all over him for that. nothing beats metal filings in your eyes. Really miss using the lathe, vac form and milling machines at uni, if only there was a workshop for hire.

Nothing better to wake you up in the morning than leaving the chuck tool in a lathe and starting it up :)

Go visit your local TAFE. They run nights where you can use their machines for a very reasonable rate.

When I was doing Engineering at TAFE 6 or 7 years ago, I did I night course in machine shop to speed up my learning, and there were guys making their own motor bike engines on the lathe, milling out crankshafts etc etc etc.

Go talk to them, I'm sure you could find something .....

ugly gearknob but :O haha... and very dangerous not wearing the glasses!!! I hurt myself on the lathe at work the other day... 4 stitches :O
