Got to do a 5,000K service this coming week. Thought Id pull one of the sparkies out to check its condition and part number ect.

In their are Champion RC10YX4 Gold Sereis (gapped to .8mm) and according to the previous owner they were put in at 98,000 and this will be a 115,000 service.

Do they need to be changed yet? The car is runing ok just wondering if I should chuck some freshies in? If i need to get new ones how do I gap them to .8mm or do i purchase them allready at .8mm

This is how the one i pulled out looked :

My old man has had problems with Champion plugs previously (admittedly, it was many years ago) so we've never trusted them. NGK, as Tangles mentioned, are the way to go. If you do intend to keep those ones (they look fine apart from some gunk on the tip of the electrode), just give them a clean and make sure the gap is still at 0.8mm.

Copper plugs apparently don't last as long as Iridiums or Platinums, but they are a better conductor of electricity, so provide better spark.
