If I get an auction buying service to pickup some 2nd hand rims with tires

in japan, is there any gotchas involved in shipping -- other than basic cost?

eg, do the tires require extra paperwork, ridiculous cleaning costs,

or other hassles to get hold of?

you require a permit from AQIS to import used tyres, whether on or off rims and they will still require an aqis inspection.

Any auction buying service worth their fee will already have this permit in place. We won't do tyres on their own as AQIS will require a fumigation certificate and fumigation costs a lot, but we have the required permit for used tyres fitted to rims.

thanks,

Do you know an auction buying service "worth their fee"? because the one I use has been great

but usually does small fluffy anime type collectibles, not car parts!

Of course I'm slightly biased being that I'm part owner - but www.importmonster.com.au is my choice :) Plus we're a site sponsor :)
