Yesterday I was in a side street off Bridge Road where I parked, and headed down the road to a bar for lunch. On my return, a lady on a balcony above where i parked yelled for my attention, and informed me a car just hit mine while they attempted to park. It only happened less than a minute before i arrived, as her husband was on the way down the stairs to leave a note on my window. They told the offender what he had done, but he ignored them and drove off in a hurry. I asked which way did he go, and they said right onto Bridge rd, so Darren and I got in the car (Darren is a 2 metre tall thug) and we went chasing the red toyota camery!

Well, i was watching for traffic on Bridge road and Darren spotted the car down another side street so he jumped out as I backed up and tried to get down the street. Lucky we had the numberplate, the offender was still in his car, trying to park, when Darren the giant appoached him! Geez i would have hated that, and i think the dude was shitting himself but when i turned up my adrenaline was racing i didn't know what to say. He goes, oh sorry i didn't even realise. BULL S#!T he was told! He was quick to offer his license though i'm sure he wouldn't have wanted trouble i could have sworn darren was about to unleash some whoopass and i wish he had of i was sooo pissed ofF! So thats really the end of my story, nothing exciting happened after that just some photos and got the guys details. But i just wanted to share and say i'm so thankful and happy there are some lovely people in this world who went out of their way to say something to this guy as he hit me, and took the details and passed it onto me! I got his number as well so i'll have to follow up with a real nice thank you christmas card or something the couple were lovely and i wish there were more people like them. Cheers!

My car got hit in the the carpark a little while ago. Didnt see the damage until I cleaned it. So could have happened anytime in the last two weeks. Not a lot of damage, but some scratches on my front bar, you can see a corner mark so it looks like a license plate.

Not much I can really do unfortunately.

I once saw a learner driver parking in box hill. He backed into the car behind him. When his mum noticed she jumped in and drove off quickly. I was watching the whole thing. I took down their plates and called the local cop station. They didn't give a sh*t. Told me wasn't there problem. So I managed to find a scrap of paper and leave a note for the car owner.

Recently witnessed something similar. Guy in his 40's/50's was reversing and smacked into a Commodore pretty bad, and left the scene.

As I was writing the note, the lady who owned the car came, so I just spoke to her, gave her my details, as well as the rego of the offending car, and heard from her insurance company as well as the police to make a statement the next couple of days.

I'd just hate for it to happen to either of my cars, so I'll help out where I can.

There's the problem right there... The Sunroof. I am 188cm and my head sits out of the sunroof in my mates S15 so I have to bob down a little. I am fine in the 32 though, plenty of room and no sunroof to be had :P

With the Sunroof in Skylines the roof inside is actually lower from memory to make room for the sunroof mechanism. The actual outside roof height is the same. While its minimal, a line without a sunroof has a little bit more head room.

Haha i have a similar story where an old fart (55yo approx) hit me in the car park, and he admitted to it but didnt want to pay for damages because my car "wasnt parked properly, should have been closer to the curb"...according to him????

Anyway this happend 3 months ago, i have his address and so on but hes not paying, do you guys have any suggestions on how to teach this guy a lesson, i mean i fixed up the damage but he thinks he got away with it...?

i was actually quilty of a hit run not long ago... was in a car park next to a Suzuki Swift and pulled out... went home... wasnt til about 2 days later when i went to wash it i saw a scrape mark on the front bar and seeing as that was the last time i took the car out it was obvious i must have clipped the rear bar... obviously wasnt hard as neither me or the wife noticed when it happened but there was paint transfer so probably just a scrape on the other car too... havent seen that car again around the shopping center so havent been able to leave a note :) feel so bad about it.

    • Man, different parts but the same numbers is terrible @dbm7! And it doesn't help that most online shops don't list the part numbers at all. They just give a list of compatible models...
    • Slow when hot could also be because its getting more dynamic compression, OR things are getting a bit tighter once it is all expanded. If it were an earthing issue, typically I'd expect you to have it have issues all the time. Unless it's really a combination of both things. Where the higher compression, and things being a bit tighter, is giving that bit of extra load and you do need a slight clean up on the cables/connections.
    • Yeah, this is one of the most annoying things about nissan part numbers... I've got an unrelated example... Image is of the AT output shaft ~ they have the same part#, but clearly the shaft on the left is beefier design to that on the right ...the difference (essentially) is the 'lighter' shaft on the right, is for engines up to RB25DE (this includes RB20 variants) : the shaft on the left is for RB25/26DET(T)....are they interchangeable? Yes...but obviously one shaft is going to be stronger than the other...and, the lighter shaft is around USD115, but the heavier shaft closer to USD150...same part#... ...epc-data usually tells a tale ~ the amayama listing for 39100-23U60 has a note "Longest side is between 60 and 105 cm" ; no such info is there for 39100-23U70 ...and given the great disparity in price between the 2 parts, it makes me at least curious (to the point of caution) where the 'extra money' went? ...ie; these 2 parts have a cost difference that (to myself at least) isn't explained by 'plastic boot'...ie; with amayama there's AUD700 price difference ...plastic versus rubber?...I'm not seeing it like that...and 60cm ~ 105cm...??...that's a huge disparity....something hinky going on here... I'd try searching by VIN, not model... /2cents
    • I don't know for sure, but I'd expect them all to be interchangeable given the diff end and hub end don't move/change between any C34 series. Often Nissan will change part numbers and the aftermarket follows those year ranges; but the original part number change doesn't mean other parts won't fit. The change could be a change in material, internal parts or even just supplier. For example, all the RB gearbox to engine bolts are no longer available and there is a new part number instead. The only change is they went from cadmium plated bolts to zinc plated due to the issues manufacturing with Cadmium. They look different but work the same.
    • One year is a bit concerning. Did you try contacting GSP? It says 5 year warranty on the box if I remember correctly. I'm also running their driveshafts on my S2 Stagea.   You could check the part numbers on Amayama for your year. Here's the link for my 1998 which gives the 39100-23U60 part number. Well, that and 39100-23U70. https://www.amayama.com/en/genuine-catalogs/epc/nissan-japan/stagea/wgnc34/6649-rb25det/trans/391 What does it say for yours?
