little black box???????

when i got my new car about 3 weeks ago, it came with a remote and 2 keys, one big one that operates the ignition and the boot, and the glove box, and another tiny little one. originally i thought this was for the chrome wheel covers but then i discovered a mysterious black box in the engine bay in the top left corner (closest bit to the driver) which had a little rubber cover and a key hole under it, where my little key fits perfectly......

Is this a standard Skyline thing? or is for my imobaliser or something else?

Sounds like the siren for the alarm/immobiliser. The key turns to siren on/off - so you can disconnect the battery without setting off the siren.
