Hi all,

I have heard a few comments and just want to clear this up. I noticed some Skylines do not come badged at the rear with anything to suggest they're a R33 GTS-T or a GTS25-T. However, I have always assumed that the "25" was just to represent the RB25DET engine this models after 1996 to late 1998 had the new "GT25-T" badge and there aren't any differences between the two, is this correct?

However, on the other hand, a few of my mates suggest that the GTS25-T models came with some extra goodies...can someone please confirm this...many thanks.

SM.

I thought all R33 GTS-Ts had the GTS25t sticker, while the GTS had the GTS25 sticker.

I thought it was just some people removed them coz they like the no sticker/badge look?

My 1993 series 1 R33 GTS-T has a GTS25t sticker, but the "t" peeled off...

Yep one and the same, when the guys on here refer to an r33 gts-t it's easier to type gts-t rather than gts25-t

there's no actual 'special' gts25-t model, maybe the 40th anniversary models but pretty sure they still came off the showroom floor with the gts25t sticker

AWD versions have gts-4 stickers from factory, doesn't mean the car is a 4 cylinder or 4 litre

Then again you should all get r34's so you only have to type GT-t hahaha

correct my 40th anni has a gts25t sticker on the rear. GTS-T is just a shorterned way of saying ur GTS is turbo charged. a lot of people don't even bother with the T on the end. non turbo R33s arent so popular in the heavy tuning motorsports world and most tuners name the GTS25T as just a GTS. as opposed to being a GTR.

Hey all, thanks for your replies... this answers it nicely!

So there aren't any differences after all - what do you know.

So does the 40th anniversary edition one have anything that's different?

Cheers.

to answer your question about the 40th anniversary please run a search plenty has been listed.

all the standard 40th anniversary features have been modified on my car though nothing on my car says its a 40th anniversary anymore :P

It has oval "40th Anniversary" badges on the C pillars, similar fabric decals sewn into the front seats and a smug sense of self-satisfaction when driving that you own a "special" model :P

ahhh some cars come badged from Nissan with a GTS-T sticker on the back.. some come with a GST25T.. So saying that tuners don't look at it isnt the question.. i also wondered about this but never looked into it..

More factory options

R34 crank angle sensor

The cams also differ slightly and need to be 98 model specific when replacing/upgrading

    • The Frenchy's kit is the way to go forward. A modern compressor that weighs about 1/2 as much, is at least twice as efficient, and will do a good job on R134a. And of course the kit has everything else you need to connect it up and have it work properly.
    • Hey all , I am in the process of having the AC system in my r32 GTST converted from r12 to r134a and I’m being told my compressor has gone bad and I will need a new one. I was wondering if anybody has any suggestions for what is the best route to go aside from dropping $1500 on a new oem one? I did see that Frenchy’s performance garage offers a kit to mount a Toyota compressor, has anybody actually used this kit on their car? Or is there anywhere I could purchase just a clutch? Any help is appreciated.
    • Well, your RB20 ECU loom won't have wires for the boost solenoid, that boost sensor, and possibly one or two other things. There could be differences in seemingly random things like the charcoal canister purge solenoid, because the 25DET has to handle boost in the vacuum system and the 20DE does not. I don't know - I haven't looked. It is very likely that all the most important things are same-same, being the main sensors like AFM, CAS, etc, and the injectors and ignition. Not that you'll need the AFM for the Haltech anyway. I would suggest that you would seriously want to sit down with the pinouts for both ECUs and just go through them and highlight green what is the same, orange what is different/missing, and make a plan from there. It's not going to be difficult. It will either be the same or need to be fixed.
    • yeaaa that's why I haven't done any wiring to the stock ecu harness because I have the haltech, but then that leads me to the other question of "is the pnp harness really plug and play?" or would I have to still switch some pins/wires over because the pnp is for the rb25det neo harness, and not for the rb20de neo harness. was really hoping to find something to spoon feed me since so many people have done rb20neo + t conversions, but man this is rough.
    • Temu raptor, lol. At least the owner isn't your typical ranger danger lot
