just wondering if anyine knows if theres a differance ( apart from age ) between the stock r32 gtr turbos and the r34gtr turbos

reason being im considering wether it is worthwhile to change my 32 turbos for a newer 34 turbos as im worried mine might go anytime.

im not after huge power but would like to safely boost at about 15-16psi

thought it might be a cheaper option than upgrading to -7's

cheers

If I were going to the trouble of putting turbos on a GTR - personally I wouldnt be putting ceramic turbos back on it. Sure - the R34 ones are newer and ball bearing - and people argue that the will last longer at higher boost levels. Ultimately though - that ceramic turbine is prone to failure.

To the best of my knowledge - the R34 units run a smaller compressor wheel too. They may be a good replacement if your turbos go bang and you manage to source a set cheap. If it were me - I would at least be puting something with a steel turbine on it though...
