Never looked at my oil pressure a whole lot but noticed the other night that at idle, is sits on about 2 and prob doesn't get much passed i guess 3? (which is the next mark along)

I'll have to check again, but i think that's what it's about.

I've had the car for about ~30K km, and it's seen one lot of Mobil 1 0w40, and i think 3 lots of Royal Purple 5w30.

I swear i've seen the gauge a lot higher before, like halfway and higher, so i'm concerned my oil pressure is too low.

I'm assuming weight/viscosity of the oil makes a difference, but for those running TRUE synthetics (ie, not castrol edge, etc) is this pressure too low??

cheers

daniel

Motul 8100 Excess 5w40 maxes at 8bar+ When cold

Warm 2 -2.5 bar at Idle

And around 5-6bar at around 5000rpm

Try doing an oil change and seeing what happens as I have noticed if you extend out the servicing it can affect the pressure. Not sure why possibly due to a bit of fuel contamination??

idle seems ok but it's through the revs that has me a bit concerned.

i also started hearing this knocking noise too?? don't know what that was. From the drivers seat, it "seemed" like it was coming from my left a bit, and quite close to the firewall, so the back of the engine bay. That's what it seemed like.

two together point to anything??
