Hi All. Just thought id share the latest with the family bus.

We just did the 100k service (well overdue) on the rs4. Since i got rid of the s13's I havnt had much of a chance to play with mechanics which sometimes can be frustrating and yet satisfying but using the guides here on the timing belt replacement and parts lists info etc it went very smoothly. Big thanks to all those who contributed to them.

Like all nissans cough'' datsuns, something always breaks weather it be in the driveway or somwhere down the street and sure enough after a couple hours of replacing the belts, fluids reset the timing and fired it up for a run, the RS4 started screaming at me.

Had a quick suiz and it seems the alternator must have been comfortable with the old fanbelt but the new one, no way! After a few more mins the squeeling turned to a whine and then no dash lights and me no starty anymore.

So we are on xmas eve, all the shops shut for a few days and a fantastic looking car in the driveway that dosnt want to start.

If anyone in the Carins FNQ area has a alternator for a neo6 can they pm me

Merry xmas to all and dont let anyone tell you your wagon looks like a volvo

I have heard the same, since it bolts up to a RB30 engine which is at least similar. Hope you can get it sorted asap; I agree with the fantastic looking and not a volvo parts!! Have a good one

hrmm sorry mate your about 1 week too late, i am in fnq and i did have an r31 sitting in my carport for 6 months with a recently rebuilt alternator (wasnt cheap either :) ) but yeh sold it just last week. good luck with ya search mate.

By the way are you in cairns by any chance?

Cheers, Bradd
