engine or brake caliper paint. Just rough up the shiny surfaces first with wet and dry to get the paint to bond properly (end tanks and top/bottom of core).

I would be using radiator paint as it is thinner, and suitable for the temps required. Any other paint my reduce airflow, especially if applied incorrectly. Always paint on a warm not humid day, and place the can of paint in hot water before applying. This heats up the paint allowing for a thinner and even coat.

Nah man you won't need primer, as long as you properly prepare the surface and not just go whacking on a coat of paint with dirt and shit all over the cooler. Just rub it over lightly with some find sandpaper or something so the paint sticks and also make sure it's clean and dirt free

And a quick question lol umm on R31 Skyline forums there's a button "show new replies to your posts" so it shows up if anyone new has posted in a thread that you have posted in.. is there a button like that somewhere on this site?! Or do I have to remember every thread I asked a question in and go back to it?? Sorry for the dumb ass question.

I sprayed mine with cans when I first got it...flaked off the end tanks pretty quickly (even with SEVERAL coats on the end tanks, not the fins)...Got it powder coated now, and its 10x more durable..no flaking whatsoever.

Making about 240rwkw without any issues, so don't let anyone tell you powder coating it will affect cooling properties.

on my r34, I got mine done in 2pak and it stood up well, no flaking on the fins and that was the thinnest coat

got it done on the piping too. looked factory and both times I was pulled over in an RBT the officer never picked up on the i/c at all

Temps were same after painting

thinking of doing this.... might help a little with the stealth factor...

not that my car is really "stealthy" but every bit helps i spose

black i/c piping does wonders when popping the bonnet I've found :)

pulled over twice for rbt and the officers never so much as raised an eyebrow at my black i/c pipes

but will be doing it all myself. autobarn has radaitor black spary paint which is what the cooler will be done in. all the other pipes will be done with engine paint stuff in matt black. pipes will have nice thick coating and the cooler will have very thing but a well overed layer. pulling the front apart today so will be fun lol
