every thread in general discussion seems to wind up going in the same direction!.

I like the look and sound of RX7s, and ill talk to the guys around here who drive them, being a car enthusiast is more of a mindset than a brand allegiance though the reliability issues and insane fuel consumption never made me fancy one for myself though.

When I mentioned other people snobbing me when I drive my VN I meant people who know me or know that my other car is a Skyline..

I tend to avoid 99% of R33 drivers, and the comment about them becoming the new VL Turbo is justified IMO, there are so many ockers and plain idiots buying them here and promptly getting caught hooning its not funny. No offence to the guys who drive em on here, but its a trend i've noticed that you can't really deny.

I always give a wave to HR31 drivers, mainly because I feel sorry for the fact that they are a chick deterrent and most people think they are the same as the pov pack aussie version lol. Unique imports also catch my eye, and ill always give the driver a thumbs up, around here it seems to be all older wealthy guys with the Stagea's, rare WRX's etc.

p.s I go on Calais Turbo occasionally for a laugh, some of the mods there are a pisser! (not to mention /b/tards)

in my shit town there is probably 9 skylines getting around including mine.... 2 R-34'S, 1 highly modified R-31,3 R-32's and the rest R-33's.

a few Silvia's a couple of supra's ,1 brand new 2008 Subaru sti,1 Toyota soarer and a whole lot of 300zx.

its a small town and ive only had one of the 34 owners wave back at me the others have either given me the finger or chased after me then come up along side me & give me a pshhhhhh then take off.

i think in general its a turbo owner thing going on and most of the guys in town drive like dead set f*** heads,i go out for a relaxing drive as i really enjoy driving my car but i either have assholes yelling pshh pshh through my window as i drive by & im like wtf? i dont have an aftermarket bov or they do that damn pinky finger thing at me and im driving normal.

I love my 32, and i loved my S13 and i love chasers and Fj holdens and XY-XW GTHO falcons..

credit where credit is due..a nice car is a nice car

as for idiots on the road.....ignore them and dont become one of them....

just jumping in. does that pinky thing mean wanker ? or is it refering to the driver's attitude as top shit ?

i think its means something like your trying to compensate for having a little penis or something like that....what does it mean???

hey ToF,

you havent come across a white nissan stagea on the keysy-dandy bypass late one night have ya ? a while ago ?

I think I may have. I can just vaguely remember, I saw it and I wanted to give a thumbs up but no one ever looks at my Camry.

Yes Skyline drivers are losers.

We are Gen X onwards

We love playstation and console games

We love technology and gizzmos

We love Beer

We love SBS

We love Channel 10

We love the Internet

We love Skylines

We love exoctic cars

We love track days and racing in controlled conditions

We love Police

We love Cars shows and moves

We love every sport under the sun

We love free money

We love free porn

Most of all we love and respect eachother, from experience all skyline members give a wave and say high!

Skyline drivers avoid Commodore/Falcons for a wave for the following reasons

1. Noble Park

2. Noble Park

3. Noble Park

Do I go further?

80% of cars impounded are Falcons and Commodores

60% of above are drivers under 25

20% of above are 21 below

So while these drivers drive around with no regard for the law and drive up insurance premiums for us all, they do not command or warrant my respect, for a wave.

Rotary Drives I much respect for I know alot of Mazada owners personally, and they are great guys! But they take the opinion of hating all Piston powered vehicles not one car imparticular. Obviously by having a mazada owner ranting on about GTR's and Skyline drivers being losers, then obviously he feels threatened that it is a car that doesn't fit into the generalistic peg hole to place it with all Piston Vehicles. What there is a car that compares to your die hard idles of Rotary's in performnace and looks.

We all admire and love other vehicles and have a healthy respect for them. Don't feel threatened embrace us and share the love. We can all get along and be happy.

ahh ok, cause i remeber this one chaser came up, looked really neat and almost standard (like yours)

right next to my window lets go a dose from his BOV. stayed side by side, all the way till keysy pub then the Chaser gave a little juice and slowly crept off into the distance, not saying it was slow. but it wasnt hooning, maybe 4ks over the limit, while my speedo reads wrong, i was like 76kph

so by your own reasoning you would be a skyline reject? Which means the skyline was supperior to your driving abilities?

Seriously, coming onto a skyline forum and bagging out skylines to get a reaction? Yes congratulations it worked, we are all stunned and excited for you to achieve such greatness. Please accept my congratulations your doing your fellow RX7 drivers proud

Im an ex VL owner and I sure as hell dont go back on Calais Turbo and post shit about how much better my skyline is. Grow up.

In all honesty I like RX7's from about series 3 onwards. I however think your attitude gives RX7 owners a bad name

On Topic: I agree theres alot of people in skylines that probably shouldnt be, which is maybe one of the reasons why some might consider me a snob etc when pulled up next to me at lights. I got sick of pulling up next to idiots in skylines/imports/ricers that as soon as you give them a look want to show you how 'fast' there car is. So i dont bother giving them a glance, and for those who are genuinely being respectful to the car i drive etc then i apologise

Oh My...

Your the saviour of the thread, the Skyline owners of the world should have your photo of on their dashboards.

Re-Read the thread from the start matey... You might find that the trend is actually slightly different then what your trying to protray in heroic post.

I'm not even going to entertain the IQ level that requires one to suggest that only Skyline Drivers are welcome on this forum.

Its very interesting that you feel some people don't deserve to drive a skyline... gods gift to the GTR ?

just a word of note:

Rotary engines are not really unreliable. A Stock 13BREW block is quite strong!

You hear rotaries go pop because of:

1. unknown history (as are all s8 imports now)

2. owners who have no clue how to properly maintain the car

as for skylines, ive never been a fan of the car.. even the 34gtr.. it looked too much like a box but i appreciate and respect the rb26

Definitely not me because mine doesn't dose and I probably wouldn't speed off on the street.

Out of curiousity, if your not a fan of skylines (assuming you do actually own a series 1 R33 as it says in your display) why do you own one?

Go keyboard warriors, fight, fight, fight, fight.

Im reading this thread and listening to a fight scene from rush hour 2 in the back ground, quite fitting really.

Are they assholes? my honest answer would be yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, and hmm yes. but in that view i think most people who buy them do it for the looks they get. Try being female and driving one....its a attraction for assholes!

guess i cant say its all of them  remeber a large percentage of them arent on this forum!

and i have met a few really nice ones.

A female does not need a skyline to attract arseholes, just tits.

    • Add to this... What blew the fuse too? If a circuit feeding power to the coils was blown, how were the coils even functioning to let the car start?   There is some seriously wrong wiring in that car for certain, and I'm betting there is some melted cables somewhere, but I can't explain the 30v either, unless there is something back feeding on that power line that has a dodgy power system and the electronics are giving it hell.
    • This is typically the case with such threads. What I cannot quite get my head around is where a reading above 12V (or 13.8 or 14.x or whatever the maximum achievable voltage might actually be in that specific car) comes from. 25V or 30V should be completely impossible. There's no way to create it. Hard to answer that question. It will literally depend on whether the current tune relies on the values as set. I'd guess it probably does. ie, the real base pressure being 49 means that the flowrate through the injectors will be higher than if it was 43.5. The Haltech's modelling should be handling that, but because it thinks the pressure is only 43.5, then..... I dunno. It should be thinking that it will be injecting less fuel with each pulse duration than is actually happening. So, something is definitely not-as-it-should-be, but specifically what that is is beyond my abilities to imagine. Someone like Dose who spends more time with Haltechs might have a better thought.
    • Bit of a late reply here as me and my wife have been really busy with new born twins. I finally got these issues fixed and it was something really stupid that caused all of this 🤦‍♂️... After alot of mucking around with trying to figure out what is causing these issues, I back probed one of the R35 coils on the power 12v supply, with the engine running it got 25v! And I thought, hang on..., this isn't normal. Measured my battery with the engine running to check for over charge from the alternator and it wasn't that. So then I dissconnected the R35 PRP coil harness and backprobed the power supply on the engine loom where the ignition coil harness connects, with the key on ignition (engine off) it measured 30v! So then I had to trace where that high voltage was coming from and it lead me to the brown relay "ECM & IGN coil relay" inside the cabin next to the ECU on the passanger wall. This relay feeds power to the ECM and ignition coils. Tried swapping it with another same relay. nah still 30v.. coming from the 2 green/white wires in the brown relay. So then I set my multi meter to the beep continuity mode and probed every fuse on the fuse box inside the cabin to try and find this high voltage power source. Wasn't any of the fuses inside the cabin. Then probed all the fuses in the engine bay and BAM, got my power source that was a 10AMP fuse called "ENG CONT". Pulled the fuse out, and what do you know... it was blown. 🤦‍♂️  So then I quickly replaced it with a new 10AMP fuse, started the car and yeah haha [insert extreme face palm]... The RPM blimping thing went away, car idles smoothly now like what it was before. I swear! I checked all my fuses with my test light twice before I created this forum thread. I think, maybe because one side of that faulty 10A fuse lit up on my test light, I must have thought it was still ok and not blown. But now I know to have both sides light up on the test light when checking fuses... I hate diagnosing electricals.... I'd take mechanical problems over electrical problems any day🤣. Drove the car around my suburb with the engine up to operating temp and it runs fine like before. However, I notice that my fuel pressure is still at 49psi. So I'm thinking this must be normal for my system as I've upgraded the stock fuel pump to a Walbro 255L/h with a constant 12v mod.  But anyway, I'm just glad to have my daily back on the road! Thanks everyone for the replies on this thread, all sorted now! One thing I want to ask you tuner guys, my base fuel pressure on the haltech main settings are set to 43.5psi from default (my tuner must have not checked the fuel pressure maybe when tuning my car?). Do I set it to what it actually is idling on at 49psi? Or just leave it ("if it aint broke, don't fix it/leave it")?
    • The max they would go for me is 50.
    • That cannot have been a fun set of drilling. The stock "baffle" looks identical to rb26, I just cut fuel cell foam to fit the full length under the baffle.
