I drive a r31 Pintara wonderful car new condation have SAU stickers on, got the nod, wave and smile when I came down to Brisbane from Hervey Bay on a flying one day visit Queens birthday long weekend.

I know Pintara guys are the butt of jokes but it was nice to see friendly faces from drivers in the more modern skylines.

As a side note the old lady left many behind coming down the highway she still got it, all I have done is change exhaust all the way and strut brace...

i smoked a LOSER in a porsche yesterday, felt great.

he looked destroyed as in what have i done with my money waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa :)

Willing to bet both Porsche owners drove home depressed only to have their 20-something, bombshell-girlfriends' lips around their cocks make them forget all about losing to a Jap import :)

Sometimes I really hate capitalism.

f**k that i went home to a copy of swank and a fist

oh yeah, was drivin home from work one day and some guy in a,, (well, vtec i guess) civic kept flooring it at the lights everytime we pulled up next to each other ,even wen we went past knox police station,, and wen he was ahead of me, kept flashing his indicator at me as if to ask me to race., i just went past him and gave him the salute

Was it a silver gli hatchback civic and did it look stock because my sisters bf is a wanker and is just like that and thinks he can beat anything on the road. he always makes up stories when he comes home i beat this car and im just thinking yea only in your dreams because his car canot get anymore stock no vtech engine so he has no chance in beating any of the cars he says he does. and he lives with us in our place and we are only from rowville so not far from knox at all if it was im gonna give him so much shit. >_<

  • 4 months later...

Well its an old thread here, but what happened to me tonight kinda pissed me off, i was drivin home from work on burwood hwy, about to go past knox, headin towards the city, i was jus cruising normally, and i saw a car weaving thru traffic real fast behind me, as soon as he got next to me, started driving alongside me, revving, tryin to egg me on, i jus looked at him once and looked straight ahead, the guy was driving an r8 commy, then i realised there was another one on the other side of me doin the same, i jus pretended not to notice, and didnt wanna race him anyway,we were right in front of a police station anyway),then we get past knox police station and his friend thinks its a good idea to start tailgating me real close, i should hav jus slammed my brakes on him..farked situation, hate how osme people think they can beat anything on the road.

Well anyway i guess they got the message and sped off after a few minutes of trying. thought about it wen i got home, wondered whether i should hav jus gone for it, but pretty glad i didnt.

i find the people that drive the fast/nice cars that are relatively cheap to buy/modify and don't require much in the way of brain power (commodores, falcons SOME skylines - although ive never had a bad experience with a 'line driver) are the dickhead drivers...

The expensive and rare cars (cressys, silvias, skylines to an extent of course, cefiros, vintage cars, or any car thats had alot of work/effort/care done to it) usually house the good, friendly, mature drivers...

yer couple weeks back, a guy in a commodore with a clubsport body kit was tail gating me then zoomed past me so i gave it abit of gas and was right behind him all the way..poor guy..puts a clubsport kit too make it look tough and think its going to make him go fasterr.

benzino you should of smoked them. i would have.

i got to be honest i dont get many people in my area trying to drag me. but sometimes on the way to work and home on maroondah i get a few people. all the fun i guess.

Yeah I would have, but see, we were at the lights right at knox police station, the blue clubby was a ute and the silver one was a sedan, and it was on my left, so i actually thought it was a cop car about to turn in,,and wen it didnt i thought they were following us, but wen he started doin the same i knew they were friends. shud hav jus dropped the clutch

I can't understand why everyone is not trying to help you get dressed up as a woman. Good on those great people from maroondah ! Why can't more people help you out, I say it's a discrace.

Do they provide you with the clothing as well as help you get dressed? :D

The only people that like skylines are other people that have/want a skylines, to anybody else, the big wing and circular tail lights just wind them up

I guess thats what the guy must hav thought, he saw me from way back and just flew through the traffic to get to me..guess i fell victim to stereotyping

This is because Skylines are synonymous with racing on the street. People see the afterburners and it's an invitation to race, whether you want to or not. But to be honest I haven't seen anything to dispell the stereotype...there are so many Skylines out there who will have a go no worries. I don't help it at all because I'm always a traffic light hero when the opportunity arises. You buy a Skyline, you gonna have to deal with it.

    • The engine stuff is Greg Autism to the Max. I contacted Tony Mamo previously from AFR who went off to make his own company to further refine AFR heads. He is a wizard in US LS world. Pretty much the best person on earth who will sell you things he's done weird wizard magic to. The cam spec is not too different. I have a 232/234 .600/603 lift, 114LSA cam currently. The new one is 227/233 .638 .634. The 1.8 ratio roller rockers will effectively push this cam into the ~.670 range. These also get Mamo'ified to be drilled out and tapped to use a 10mm bolt over an 8mm for better stability. This is what lead to the cam being specced. The plan is to run it to 6800. (6600 currently). The Johnson lifters are to maintain proper lift at heavy use which is something the LS7's supposedly fail at and lose a bit of pressure, robbing you of lift at higher RPM. Hollow stem valves for better, well everything, Valve train control. I dunno. Hollow is better. The valves are also not on a standard valve angle. Compression ratio is going from 10.6 to 11.3. The cam is smaller, but also not really... The cam was specced when I generated a chart where I counted the frames of a lap video I had and noted how much of the time in % I spent at what RPM while on track at Sandown. The current cam/heads are a bit mismatched, the standard LS1 heads are the restriction to power, which is why everyone CNC's them to get a pretty solid improvement. Most of the difference between LS1->LS2->LS3 is really just better stock heads. The current cam is falling over about 600rpm earlier than it 'should' given the rest of my current setup. CNC'ing heads closes the gap with regards to heads. Aftermarket heads eliminate the gap and go further. The MMS heads go even further than that, and the heads I have in the box could quite easily be bolted to a 7.0 427ci or 454 and not be any restriction at all. Tony Mamo previously worked with AFR, designed new heads from scratch then eventually founded his own business. There he takes the AFR items and performs further wizardry, CNC'ing them and then manually porting the result. He also ports the FAST102 composite manifold: Before and after There's also an improved racing crank scraper and windage tray. Helps to keep oil in the pan. Supposedly gains 2% power. Tony also ports Melling oil pumps, so you get more oil pressure down low at idle, and the same as what you want up top thanks to a suitable relief spring. There's also the timing chain kit with a Torrington bearing to make sure the cam doesn't have any thrust. Yes I'll post a before and after when it all eventually goes together. It'll probably make 2kw more than a setup that would be $15,000 cheaper :p
    • Because the cars wheels are on blocks, you slide under the car.   Pretty much all the bolts you touched should have been put in, but not fully torque up.   Back them off a turn or two, and then tighten them up from under the car with the wheels sitting on the blocks holding car up in the air.
    • Yes. Imagine you have the car on the ground, and you mine away all the ground under and around it, except for the area directly under each individual wheel. That's exactly how it'd look, except the ground will be what ever you make the bit under each wheel from
    • Yes, if you set the "height" right so that it's basically where it would be when sitting on the wheel. It's actually exactly how I tighten bolts that need to be done that way. However....urethane bushes do NOT need to be done that way. The bush slides on both the inner and outer. It's only rubber bushes that are bonded to the outer that need to be clamped to the crush tube in the "home" position. And my car is so full of sphericals now that I have very few that I need to do properly and I sometimes forget and have to go back and fix it afterwards!
