I just got mine last week!....took me and my little bro hours to find one (thru the VicRoads site) that would suit me/my car, and was not taken already already.

My question.................do you guys reckon it's 'safe' to put your plates up (proudly display) on the forums (whether typed or pictured/photographed)....?

By 'safe' I mean from authorities and thieves..etc etc..?

By 'authorities' I mean curious police people and VR etc.

By 'thieves' I mean kaaaaaarntz.

Cheers.

oh....

Do we know if many police use our site to 'check things out'....

By 'check things out' I mean......oh *hit...

If thieves want your car badly, no matter how good you protect it, they'll get it...

That's what insurance are for. I do hope for your own sake you get yours fully covered.

If you are not doing anything illegal, why are you scared of the cops?

Hi rs73!.....(I thought shortly after posting that I'd get this 'sort' of response...and that's cool!)

Ok....ever since owning a 93 Silvia (when they were almost new!) I've had comp on my cars...and, unfortunately, have had to use it!..(it's just common sense to be insured, fully if possible, I would hope).

Agreed, if the kaaaaarntz want your ride, they'll get it.

Scared?.......phhhhhhht!...lol!

RS, I've not had even a parking ticket in the past 8 years (touching wood), I was merely entertaining the thought, albeit publicly!!!!...LOL!....nothing to hide here buddy!

Do you think that my question is valid?....could there be kaaaaaaarntz, and Police, checking stuff out?

It's just that I want to show my fellow clubbies my plates!...and i want to see yours too!...just to share and shit.

There's a light blue V35 on these forums, I just love it, and the plates are kenace!

Cheers mate!

Rock-On!

Here...kiss my A$$! j/ks

JDM version of G-SPOT.

People blanking out plates on forums are overated I reckon. Plates whether personalised or non are displayed for public view no matter where you are, so what makes forums any different? The only time you need to be cautious is if you have specified in detail heaps on $$$ mods or when you are bragging about illegal mods or accomplishments.

And yes cops frequenting forums is a well known fact. If you have a clean slate and nothing to hide, then I don't see any problems there.

Post away Superspit!

 ..........(close, but no cigar)

NSW's euro plate N-IS-54N or N-I554N both taken? If not then it'll be even more correct in terms of spelling of Nissan

hahaha.......nah mann.....your plates are schaweet!!!

Probably your is MYV35? That was the only one left when I checked... GTV35 was taken I reckon too... not to mention the more popular GT350 as some Mustang owners would have had those too

GTV35 was already taken bro???.......

I reckon, i haven't check again, but even if it is, I reckon anything starts with GTV is more suited to Alfa Romeo owners...

yep...sort of makes my plates more desirable then (?)..should I choose to on-sell them.

I thought about it long and hard, and my priority choices had all but been taken.....

I've heard of many people getting more than their money back for their plates...and then some!!

Have you got a noisy gearbox yet, espesh when you put it under some load??? (soz 4 being off topic, but your car appears to be identical to mine...(Track V35's))

Ok, Alfa Skyline...

mine is tiptronic. there is a bit of gearbox whine when cruising and adding a bit accelerator...

unsure about manual gearbox, but from experience, Nissan is not the quietest engine/drivetrain out there...

they're still considered cheap mass produced car in Japan... basically they are Japanese taxi

MJS-350

just my initials and because its a 350GT

yeah!....very personalised plates!

I used GT too, for that reason....(shame I couldn't get the V spaced out towards the 35, and 350 was taken)

    • Seemed to be good when Jeff owned it but they did a shit job on my car, probably worth a think before spending 10's of thousands of dollars where they might be cutting corners
    • Starting with issues 1 - 5, we have already run into a problem...!  Issue #4 contained 2x front brake calipers, instead of 1 caliper and 1x steering knuckle. Will have to call DeAgostini on Monday to sort it out. Anyway here's some photos.  Issue #1 is the front bumper, headlights and number plate. Issue #2 is the front wheel (with "We produced with spartan air." text on the centre cap!) and tyre, the front lip spoiler and cylinder head cover with ignition coils under the centre cover... which will never be seen again. Issue #3 is the bonnet and cylinder head. Issue #4 is the front strut, brake disc (with laser etched metal discs) and brake caliper. I stopped here because of the issue with the missing steering knuckle.  Next update will be #5 - #10 in a few weeks.
    • DeAgostini is one of a few companies that release quite large (the largest commonly available size actually) 1/8 scale models in a series of weekly issues over 100 - 110 instalments.  They release different models for different markets and DeAgostini Japan have release the BNR32 Skyline GT-R Nismo last month. I've made two of these 1/8 scale sized cars (one an R35 GT-R from 2012 - 2014, the other I'm just about halfway through, a BNR34 Skyline GT-R from the 2Fast 2Furious movie) so when this R32 was announced there was no way I could ignore it as it's my favourite out of all Nissans.  Each issue costs around $20 so it costs about $2.2K when completed. I suppose it is very expensive for what it is, but the quality and details are really very good, and there are many "gimmicks" like fully functioning exterior and interior lights operated with a remote control, working steering, all doors/bonnet/boot/fuel lid open and close, the side mirrors fold in and it even has a speaker for the engine revving sounds when you turn the lights on.  Each issue comes with a magazine that tells the story of the BNR32 Skyline GT-R Nismo from the first design stages of the BNR32 to Group A homologation and the various racing version that were run in the Japanese Group A and JGTC, and Australian Group A.  So I plan to update the build in this thread 5 issues at a time.  https://deagostini.jp/r32/?srsltid=AfmBOooKjxDc4EUK2rmXqMBPgyHfFJ24s4oEPJBNpnF-lFlsRoW0PE6P
    • As per title.. has anyone used so far? Keen to hear results, comparisons. In the market for a new mani for my new turbo. Any issues cracking?
