a better choice to save your pump and leaks in the future is LUCAS power steering / auto trans fluid. from Supercheap for about 18 buck if I remember right.

the stuff stops minor leaks, silents noisy pumps, and runs heaps cooler , and can be mixed with other fluids compatible with power steering on Nissans(most auto trans as well but check first have it in my auto trans R31 now with 485,000 k and no issues ever)

I used it on my R31, commo and a few others with pumps whining , fixed the whine right up and steering got much smoother in the rack and pinion

Only one I would choose, the bottle is huge so you will have enough for the whole system if its drained out.

dont forget when you drain it you need to follow the instructions in the manual to bleed out the steering with the wheels off the ground ? or it could fail from air in the system ? (like brakes with too much air) its not hard just takes a bit more time

I use dexron mark 4... mk3 will do in a Nissan steering system but the mk4 is a better fluid (and is backwards compatible with 3)... costs around $15 from a service station, even less from supercheap or repco
