How much coolant?

I want to flush the radiator on sunday, how many litres will I need. Also what is the best stuff for the money.

I don't think dumping a heap of coolant on the gorund in a carpark this sunday is going to win any friends.. Just an opinion.

You'll need two lots of the 5L bottles.

Just bring a bucket so when you drop off the bottom hose it drains into it. How are you planning on flushing it, you bringing a hose?

get some toyota coolant (good stuff) or if you can afford it, get some AGIP BLUE COOLANT absolute fantastic

not apparently it is the best shite out there. i always hear really good stuff about toyota coolant being red etc means it has less of something which is not good

but apparently alot of euros run this blue coolant

the blue stuff is for special alloy radiators.

If you put green coolant in them, it starts a chemical reaction (with the radiator being the anode!)...

but to the best of my knowledge there is no "cooling advantage" to the blue shit.

red toyota coolant is excellent. im using it at the moment after replacing the radiator and the temp never gets above 1/3. good stuff! altho it is quite pricey. im pretty sure the RB cooling system is 8L

If the "blue" stuff is eurospec I wouldn't try using it in our conditions. It'll be designed for a set temperature range, which would be different in Europe to Australia.

Dan, Changing coolant is easy, but flushing the radiator properly is more difficult.

its not that difficult. well not as difficult as a lexus V8 conversion into a supra eh paul

get a hose in one end, run it through until the water is clear then fill up with coolant

Yeah, that's the way I would do it, but it's not how they do it when it goes to a prefessional, but in most cases it would be enough.

So is this blue shite good, how much am I looking at. The car park at Madora is pretty well across the road from my parents beach house so flushing the radiator will not be a problem. By the way I was not going to dump the coolant all over the car park!

Is that Techoly (not sure of the spelling ) green stuff sold at Marlows any good?
