Hello

I am wondering how to hook up an adjustable fuel pressure reg. I know that it goes on the return line just after the std one. But i was wondering do people just pull the vac line off the std one? or do they remove it all together?

It an R33

And there is another thing on the return line too, Is that another reg? or one way valve?

do you have a valid reason as to why you are installing one? If you are just putting one on for the hell of it then don't even worry about it. Put your shiny new one on ebay and sell it.

I'm running 300rwkw+ and still use a factory regulator.

If you put this on, prepare for your car to run like shit or unpredictable.

dont worry about mafia shotter, he has been spewing his "awesomeness" since 2003.

YES, use the vac source from the stock reg.

however why would u use 2 fpr's?

what type of fpr do u have, ie nismo?

I have a SARD one. And the guy thats going to tune my car said we can put it on there to raise the pressure a bit because i wont be changing the injectors yet. But as far as i know the std one is connected to the fuel rail so i cant really remove it.

Hmm. It took me 6 years to make 2,200 posts.

You, 1.5 years to make 1600 posts.

Lets do some maths:

Me = 1.6 posts per day.

R33Dickhead= 3 post per day.

Plus, you managed to post almost as much as me in just over a year, that it took me 6 years. Oh, and most of your posts are useless horseshit that is not worth reading.

You should go back to installing a Shiny noisy poofter blow off valve to your car, and a big fuel pressure regulator that can support 1000 horsepower. Would go well with that bulk of power you are making.

The points I were getting at is (there is more than one now)

1. If you aren't making more than 200rwkw, you don't need a FPR.

2. R33cruiser talks shit and should be banned from the forced induction section, and joined to the ricer bolt shiny thing on dickhead forum called www.nissansilva.com

Anyway, if you would like some further insight, just let me know. THe only insight you'll get from R33cruiser is the insight from the inside of his ass, as thats where his head is.

Careful with the sard one, most cars i Have tuned with sard ones I have had to pull them off due to regulation problems. They were all over tne shop with AFRs and proved useless to tune. Same deal with Malpassi.

Just curious, what are you mods?

If you are still running the standard turbo, then that will max out before the Injectors will, they usually hit 95% duty cycle at about 230rwkw - 240rwkw.

But anyway, a mod listing will be good.

Also, your original question - yes, you need a vac line on the FPR, as it also supplies boost to it, and will raise the pressure for every psi of boost it sees. The Factory FPR gives one extra PSI of fuel for every extra PSI of boost is sees. THe base pressure for a R33 is 43psi.

The last dyno run i had done was 210rwkw at 10psi. The car has a front mount intercooler, the turbo has been rebuilt, made bigger and the ceramic wheel replace with a steel one. fuel pump replace with a 023, 2 stage electronic boost controller. basically my tuner said it is possable to push more power out of the std injectors by raising the fuel pressure. and i thought i could hook it up before i get there so i dont have to waste money on him doing it. Can someone tell me what else is on the return line. There is a right angle fitting about a foot down from the std fuel reg. What does this do? it kinda looks like another fuel reg just without the vac line fitting.

F***ing SNAP!!!!

Lol. But Mafia is right, FPR's on basically stock cars trying to "squeeze" extra power out of the stock injectors by bumping up the fuel pressure isn't the best idea and isn't highly recommended. Get yourself some cheap second hand S15 injectors if you only want a little bit more headroom from your injectors.

I plan to get bigger injectors in the future but for the moment im thinking about just putting in the adj fuel reg and seeing what it can do. Can anyone tell me what the right angle fitting thing is thats on the return line?

sorry mate, I haven't changed one before so I have told you all that I can tell you.

I'm sure there is someone that has done it before.

Just remember you can push the stock injectors to almost 240rwkw. Won't that be enough? I don't recommend pushing too muc more out of them, one might beak and cause a catastropic failure.

It is the std one but it has been rebuilt, borred out and the ceramic wheel has been replaced with a steel one. Some company rebuilds them and does all of this. I think it is now rated at 450hp but im not sure. It was done before i bought the car.

well there is a thread I wrote, about making 300rwkws.

I used a GT3037 turbo. NIce little unit, not laggy either.

Do a search for "My 300rwkw adventures" and put me as the member. It should pop up and give you everything you will need.

    • Why not? Since mines been built, I've used low boost maybe 5 times.
    • Yeah, so widen your search to any Nissan speedo first, then go wider if needed. I will say though, that there is a better than even chance that what I said first will likely come into play. They quite possibly won't come apart without damage. I tried to disassemble a stepper gauge that I wanted to repair. There was no way that needle was coming off the spindle, and I could not see how the spindle would come out of the mechanism behind. Assembled once, never to be disassembled, was my conclusion. Could be the same on the R34 cluster. Failing that - take the cluster to a workshop that specialises in automotive instrument work. There's usually at least one in every Australian city. They'll either be able to do it for you for small cost, or tell you it can't be done. It might be that "it can't be done" unless you follow some arcane procedure, including trickiness to glue it back together or something, that only experienced techs know.
    • Well, given that I, an engineer, almost never bring out the torque wrench to tighten up chassis bolts, despite fully knowing the theory, and instead rely on feel, which I happen to know is exactly how the majority of mechanics do things, should tell you the level of actual peril that exists from not achieving exactly 88 Nm of torque. How about if I just say then that 88Nm is at the lower end of the correct wheel nut torque range? Everyone knows how to tighten a wheel nut, right? And almost no-one ever brings out the torque wrench for that task
    • Don't be ridiculous. "2-3 ugga duggas or one Oof. You have to use Oof on tie rods because you can't get an ugga dugga on there." Is not helping the guy at all.
    • I have done a lot of research before posting here and on gtruk forum. couldn't find anything. I have my gauges all part except the needle itself. the needle has a extremely small hole in the center, but the shaft going to the needle is extremely small and appears to have nothing to index it either. doesn't seem strong enough to simple pry or pull without damaging something. Already tried the old spoon trick on a extra triple meter I have from a gtt, but no luck. the center cap comes off easily but the hole in the meter face plate aren't big enough to get over the needle itself. figured this would be my best place to find someone who might have actually removed theirs. wonder if there is some type of small pin press tool to push the pin in while pulling the needle base off.
