I can confirm this. go to garrett's website and look at the compressor maps.

The -9's flow alot better. The compressor map reveals how they are an even match to the -7's in spool and then keep pace with the -5's in the 30lbs/min flow region in terms of efficiency. The -5's are then the king once the limits are reached on the -9's efficiency island.

I wouldn't touch the -7's now that these are an option.

i was also interested in the -9 prior to picking up my gt-ss recently, upon enquiry to kudos motorsport (sponsor), they advised -9 were not a direct fit.. not sure what garrett website states..

He wasn't enquiring about the -7 he was asking about the -9 being a direct replacement.
