Jamezilla
Hi all - I'm trying to plan my fleet for the new year. Of the existing machines... Some cars are great and will stay, some cars are great but should probably be refreshed, some cars aren't that great and some are great in my eyes - but just never get used. Following is a list in order of category. I need to keep the total number to around 26. Group 5 Aston DB9 Volante Aston DB9 Coupe Ferrari 360 CS Ferrari F430 Spider Ford GT Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera Group 4 Audi R8 Audi R8 R-Tronic Bentley Continental GT Maserati GranTurismo Mercedes AMG CLK 63 Black Series Porsche GT3 Group 3 Maserati Quattroporte Aston Martin Vantage Group 2 BMW M3 Audi RS4 Avant Hummer H2 Group 1 Ariel Atom 2 Lotus Exige S Mitsubishi Evolution X MR Audi Q7 S-Line - Rules: Must be available in Australia - so no Alfa 8C Must be a current model (within reason) - so no Countach Must be 'affordable' - so no Zonda F I'm after ideas on great cars - not complete lists. Things like a Continental GTC and Aston DBS are in the works - and a GTR is a given. But what are we missing? What is cool that you can get in Aus that people would like? Happy to hear your thoughts! Leewah
>Must be 'affordable' - so no Zonda F rofl @ affordable!! I'd like to see some cool pimp cars like a CLS63 or a Rolls Royce Phantom. Maybe it's just me being selfish too How bout a Fezza 599 of a Lambo LP640? Roy
How about one of the Aussie built Daytona Coupes? Like the thing that poor old Bock passed away in? I sure as shit woud kill for one and would have to think if the Ford GT is popular then this would do well for less money. They are a bew car, albeit a reproduction Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/250533-supercar-fleet-2009/#findComment-4340165 Share on other sites
Jamezilla
Leewang - you're still talking telephone numbers for an LP, but late-model Murcielagos are in the 3's now. 599s are mostly still in the 5's but I think both are attainable. A scissor door Lambo really needs to happen, the 599 should happen - but perhaps when they dip into the 4's. I've got a CLK 63 ragtop coming next week, but a CLS wouldn't be used as many customers have E's and S's of their own - and Phantoms are still BIG coin. TB - remember Con who took the Ariel Atom out at Winton? He is getting a Daytona built at the moment. The issue with them is they have limited appeal - as do Elfins and Cobra kit cars. It's a good thought though! Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/250533-supercar-fleet-2009/#findComment-4340188 Share on other sites
inark
James do you get any demand for things like the 427 HSV? Could be a decent Group 1 car? And yeah i know its hardly exotic but still, could be a funnish car Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/250533-supercar-fleet-2009/#findComment-4340194 Share on other sites
Roy
Con is a lucky guy...the only other thing that needs to be considered and may be pretty cheap is a Z06, but that may be a limited appeal thing as well Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/250533-supercar-fleet-2009/#findComment-4340193 Share on other sites

Im guessing going to be impossible cause its LHD? Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/250533-supercar-fleet-2009/#findComment-4340199 Share on other sites
Leewah
I wasn't exactly sure what you meant by affordable considering at one point you had the 612. Besides, without your help, I couldn't have been able to spell Murcielago If Phantoms are still nose bleed prices, how about something like a Continental Flying Spur or a Brooklands? phunky_monkey
996 GT2? Should be within budget, and runs along the same lines as having the CS but for Porka fans: http://carsales.com.au/used-cars/private/P...gt2&trecs=7 Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/250533-supercar-fleet-2009/#findComment-4340261 Share on other sites

Jamezilla
On the RWD V8s... I'd love to get a Mustang, Corvette or Challenger. The standard Z06's are available but I'd rather hold out to get a ZR1, I haven't heard anyone bringing Challengers in yet - so a Shelby is the likely first point. Add it to the list! Flying Spur - coming shortly. FYI a Brooklands is about $800k 612 - we never actually put it on the fleet. These are in the 3's now and I think are a brilliant car for the money - especially with the Novitec Rosso rims... 996 GT2 - aside from being too old to be under warranty, putting my customers into the 'widowmaker' isn't the best plan... Many of them own Porsches and aren't overly wowed by the high end ones. The GT3 is different as it is an experience, but the GT2 (even the 997) isn't that much more of an experience than the GT3 on Australian roads. 997 GT2s are Ferrari money, and I'd rather another F430. Scud - yeah... would be a great replacement for the 360CS, but still BIG coin. They are available though - plenty of orders were placed before the world went crazy. I guess I'd better be more knowledgeable on pricing before I suggest anymore "Cars I wish I had". What ever happened to the blue 612 you had initially? That thing was secksy! Loved the sound of the V12. Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/250533-supercar-fleet-2009/#findComment-4340598 Share on other sites

nvsA4
a Holden W427 might apeal more to some people, Audi RS6??? why not the same question on ECCA.net? there heavily into there euro's which seem to be the cars your targeting Edited December 30, 2008 by nvsA4 Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/250533-supercar-fleet-2009/#findComment-4340721 Share on other sites
BeEnAr
Dunno if they are available in Oz or not, nor how much it would cost but rekon you'd get a few people into a Koenigsegg CCX or CCR. Awesome, Awesome car IMO!! Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/250533-supercar-fleet-2009/#findComment-4340844 Share on other sites
Jamezilla
We had a CCR on display for a while... then it was crashed and caught fire at the Clipsal 500. There is an orange CCX in the country now though... for $1.4M. So, ah - no. Re: 427 - it's a very expensive Commodore, but it is still a Commodore. I was in a cab this morning, I imagine they are quite similar at 60km/h And the RS6, while very cool is still $250k - which is a lot for a wagon. Especially since that will get me a Vantage Roadster. You have to remember our customers want to have an experience, and I want cars that will be used. The poor little Lotus Exige for instance - is a fantastic car, very fast, great on the track... but sits around because people find it hard to get in and out of. BUT - part of the appeal of the Club is we provide access to cars you simply would not get an opportunity to drive otherwise. See below for a small selection of the fleet... BTW - the ECCA guys will probably tell me to get a 135i (cool, but not cool enough) or an M6 (shall I just burn some money now?) TB - do you have a link for the Challenger guy?
