Have you tried using a smaller socket and bashing it over the nut with a hammer? Might just be enough to loosen them.

Yep this is the only way that is simple. Use a smaller socket than the wheel nut and hammer it on the wheelnut and undo. or find a snap on truck and they will sell you a tool to get them off. but will cost a arm and a leg, but will last forever.

^^^^ he said they were recessed in too deep....otherwise I'd agree.

A really good welder might be able to weld on a tube, use a stick welder and weld down the tube inner, then weld a nut on the end of the tube. It's not something I've had to do, and not sure I could, but I'd give it a go if I was stuck.
