wat dan means by hitting it is the cover on the back of the headlight there is a cover togain access to the bulb and it has a tag that sticks out and nissan puts a torx bit screw in the way to stop the cover from beign undone. just undo the screw and then you can undo the cover. i think from memory the screw is a tamper proof torx bit.

I installed those 6000k's that Dan was selling and they look superb. They don't look blue at all and haven't attracted any unwanted attention at all.

I do find however that I had to lower the level of the headlights to the lowest settings (my 34 has that level adjuster knob under the steering wheel) On middle setting I was getting flashed by oncoming traffic so hmm .. but that was same day as I cleaned my headlights so might have had something to do with that and not the new globes. Either way even on lowest level setting they look great and put out good light.

Hi All,

I have recently got a new set of 6000K bulbs from Dan and they look the goods! Quality light output.

Delta Force you mentioned above that you had to lower your headlight adjustment. I need to do the same in my R34, however on the lowest setting on the in car adjustment my lights are still very high and I get flashes from oncoming traffic.

I have adjusted the screws on the top of the headlight unit itself, this has made little difference. Also the right headlight is sitting higher than the left. Is there any other way besides the above that I can move my headlights to face down a little more? Has anyone else had the same problem? Is it a common problem with R34's? Not real keen on taking the front of the headlight off with a heatgun....

Any advice or help would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers - Kyle

Kyle, yep I've got no idea about why your height adjust isn't moving much, on my car at 1.5m distance to a wall I get a full 75mm drop from the high to the low setting, so on the road you ca imagine this is a marked change in distance.

Is the adjustment motor making a good bit of noise when it works, or does it sound like it may be sticking?

Sorry to dredge up an old thread, but I would like to know if there is a significant difference between the brightness of light produced between the 6000K and 8000K bulbs. My stock bulbs are terrible and I think it is time to replace them before they become too dull and a safety hazard.

Would also be curious to know if anyone has installed a 6000K in one headlight and a 8000K in the other to show the difference in colour and brightness?

I've had a HID kit sitting here for nearly 2 years, i was quoted $400 to install them and thought f**k that and never got around to doing anything about it, but after reading this thread i'm keen to get them in, i'm on the central coast of nsw, and i'm looking for some one to come do it for me, ill buy you a case or drop some cash your way *not too much im quite poor :P*. any takers?

Is it correct that the Higher you go in Kelvin the less light lumens you get? So the less actual light?

As for standard, I live in the country, no street lights at all out my way and when driving my Stagea at night I never use high beam, so standard "should" be fine for most people.

    • I don’t really have any ideas how to set the timing on the CAS 😂, sounds like the top, sounds like it maybe misfiring as well as ticking,  got the box sorted 😌, must of been a air bubble on the clutch side
    • Use a 2' length of hose (that's 2 foot, not 2 inches) as a stethoscope to localise the source of the ticking. From cam covers? From exhaust or turbo manifold gasket? From injectors? From lower down in the engine? Etc. Use a timing light to set the timing. Put Redline Lightweight Shockproof in the box. It's not the very best thing for the box, but it will take a box that refuses to engage a gear with other oil, and make it engage a gear. I had to put it in when I installed the R33 box I have in my car. It would not select ANY gear when running. Smurf jizz made it work. That was >10 years ago and I still use it. I'm stuck with it now. Failing that - rebuild the box.
    • Well done Duncan. The fuel tank bulkhead lid is also in great condition (some of mine were stuffed). These are now out of production and good ones like that are becoming hard to come by.
    • Wow that's a steal, you've done well there.
