Oil Pressure Warning Light?

Hey all, I know there has been many posts regarding the oil pressure guage but none of them seem to cover my issue; R32 GTR - no oil pressure reading on oil pressure gauge at all (always on zero), the warning light is on during startup as goes out a couple of seconds afterwoods, so Im assuming that there is still sufficent oil pressure but need to be certain, any help is much appreciated. My mechanic is away till Feb damn it!

Sounds like the sender may be kaput or the gauge may be stuck. Oil pressure light on start up is normal, it goes away after about 1 or 2 seconds. What oil are you using?

the factory oil pressure gauge always plays up in r32's.

The light and the needle run on 2 different sensors i think. As long as the little orange light doesnt turn on whilst driving you are fine.

My needle always sits on 0.

If you are worried, take it to any mechanic and ask for a oil pressure reading to double check that it is fine.

Thanks for the replys, Im using castrol edge 10/60 currently. Just for piece of mind Ill get it double checked as soon as these cocktail sipping, bannana lounging mechanics return from holidays.

ahh the trusty ol oil pressure gauge. oil pressure test at any garage and then dont look at it. my 32 is a weekender and does what it feels like on the day. depending on how warm the day is and how long its been sitting around. aftermarket gauge ftw.

Silly question, but have you checked how much oil you have? Low oil can lead to low oil pressure.
