am looking at a minor brake upgrade and trying to decide weather to got the UAS 343MM BIG BRAKE KIT FOR NISSAN SKYLINE GTR or the STAGE 1 BRAKE UPGRADE KIT FOR SKYLINE R32 GTR.

anyone using either?? just wondering will they both work with standard R32 GTR caliper and will they both fit under a 17" rim

cheers

They wont fit the 17" rims, best get a set of 18" rims then can go up to 360mm, if your going to spend the money then do it properly.

I was looking at the stage1 upgrade (324mm discs) as I wanted to keep the 17's I have.. any thoughts on these compared to using the 296mm stockers?

Old thread but I didn't want to start a new one.

I am looking at doing the above and was wondering if anyone has compared the two - 324mm with spacer vs 296mm stocker?

On the kits I have seen bigger brake pads are used to suit the GTR caliper that give greater rotor coverage. Anyone heard of this before?

Are these adapter kits more prone to crack the DBA 4000 rotor with track work?

Cheers.

I'm running 327mm discs with dogbones and 33gtst calipers on my 32, barely fit under the 34GTT rims I had.

Those discs with Ferodo DS2500 pads was a hell of an upgrade over the 296mm 33 discs and Bendix pads I had previously.

Have you tried the 327mm set up with the same Bendix pads for a direct comparison? Just trying to work out if the pads made most of the difference or the increased rotor size.

No I didn't, I got the dogbones and rotors for a VERY good price and decided to put some decent street/occaisional track pads in while I was at it instead of reusing the old noisy bendix pads.

old thread but saves me starting a new one

im interested in the UAS 324mm front brake upgrade for the r32 gtr.

does anyone have any pics with that size rotor with standard r32 gtr caliper ?

obviously the caliper wont be making the most of the entire 324mm disc as that caliper isnt deep enough ?

anymore info/advise/pics would be great !

cheers

Do a compare & contrast between the pads on the Sumitomo calliper & those on the Brembo. You will be amused by how similar in area they are....

Did the 324mm upgrade on my 32GTR. Loved it, didn't fade like the 296mm setup and had better pedal feel.

I had no problem with the inner area not being used. I used this setup with brake deflectors to improve cooling of the discs.

Pitty it wouldn't fit under the stock 16's :P

I used project mu ns pads.

Pics of mine.

    • Yea - I mean I've seen my fuel pump which is decades old and uh, while I'm not saying this with real knowledge... but I sure get the ick at using anything in the fuel system that produced the state of that pump. Many years ago I went through multiple pumps (and strainers) before I dropped the tank to clean it out with extreme violence. I'm talking the car would do maybe 50km before coming to a halt, which resulted in me cleaning out the filter with some brake cleaner and going on my way. None of my stuff ever looked like what came out of your fuel tank. I don't think I'd be happy with it unless every single component was replaced (or at least checked/cleaned/confirmed to be clean here).
    • I'm not going to recommend an EBC pad. I don't like them. Just about anything else would suit me better. I've been using Intima pads for a while now.
    • Agreed, and in particular the earth strap that should go from the subframe to the chassis but it often broken or left off. There is a section in the R32 workshop manual you can follow for troubleshooting if you don't see anything suspicious, and depending where you are (there is no location on your user profile) you should be able to get your hands on a second hand replacement unit still if needed
    • Yeah they mention as a R34 for 2.5 Turbo...but then again thos "small" were also for R34 by that different site. But i look into it and that 310mm EBC is for R34 GTT. And by those you linked the specs are the same 🙂    EDIT: I found these on one site here: DBA 4000 series T3 DBA42304S They are 310mm...and it says are for R34GTT...are there good? EDIT2: ok they have pads too.  What "color" should i get for street use? I dont want/need some noisy ones...(and if they are not that dusty that is good too)
    • Yeah, shame. Maybe  driver's carpet is available 🙏. I am waiting for both amayama and nangun to confirm.
