M I K E
howdy guys, real quick question regarding spark plugs i've got an rb20det that has a slight misfire problem under load and want to eliminate the problem of plugs. would like to do it tomorrow and since today is saturday the shops won't be open for me to go and buy some new ones i'm just wondering if i can use the plugs from my neo rb25det in my rb20det? the neo plugs are NGK BCPR7ES the rb20 plugs are NGK BCP6ES i'm hoping i can do a quick swapover tomorrow and test - they look the same to me, fingers crossed they are! cheers in advance Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/250964-sparkplugs/ Share on other sites
Bliksem
I thought BCPR7ES are the RB26 plugs? Anyway i have them in my car right now as they're pregapped to 0.8 the only other difference is they are a few mm longer than RB25 plugs but they fit fine.... QWK32
the two plugs are the same except the BCPR7ES ones have a colder heat range. apart from that they are identical. Bennett
Mate the will fit of course BUT my mate had 7's in his rb20 missfiring BADLY and i put them in my 25 and they worked like a dream. He then installed 6's and they made his car run like a dream so the 7's from ur neo could posibly make the rb20 run like shit. You may have better luck, just letting you know what happened to me. blind_elk
The heat range is the most important specification. As Bennett has pointed out, they can have a major effect on how well the engine runs. If you have some mods that improve power production, then the 7s might work ok, otherwise, stick with the 6s.
