Elevated Oil Pressure In R33 Swerie

Hi all,

I have an R33 series 1 and of late im getting an elevated oil pressure when i start the car (like reading is 3/4 of gauge).

Then for the first aprox 8 mins after ive been driving it the pressure drops to normal. I hasnt really bothered me in the past and as far as i can tell nothing is going wrong with it (touch wood) but im just wondering if anyone else has had a simular issue or can offer any advice.

I'll try to make it simple

This is normal, engine oil is "thicker" when cold therefore there will be more pressure etc etc etc..

It's NORMAL.

Have you recently done an oil change and changed to a higher viscosity oil? If so this is probably why you are noticing it has higher oil pressure on start up then before (or it's always been like this and this is the first time you have noticed it).

Hi guys, thanks for the replies!

I have recentelly (a few months ago) had a full service and tune attented too and since then the pressure has been elevated, but then decreases. So what SAU members have suggested, i think, is spot on!
