I have commented, but I doubt it'll get approved lol.

Left a comment too!

Yeah good old media filtering at its best! Australia was a democracy last time i checked! Would be nice if the actually took into account the views of clubs like this and some of the other reputable clubs in SA rather than forcing political viewpoint on the wider community and therefore basically black listing anyone and everyone that drives an import.

Surprisingly mine got published

some intellegent, well informed opinions

don't CRUSH their cars SELL them let them see somebody else drive them while they are still paying them off and if they do it for a second time ban then from driving for FIVE years

Keep taking more of these menaces off our roads please.

Well done sa police next step is three strikes and crush the vehicle as is done in America.

well if you let 16 year olds drive cars on "Learners", they will drive how they act.........Like 16 year olds!!!!!

Posted by: Ian of Adelaide 3:44pm today

Hahaha what quality. And they all most likely in the 60+ age bracket... old school keyboard warriors!

I love the comments like "Lock them up in jail for life" and "crush their car and their license for ever" and "this is why the road toll is huge!" and "reduce the national speed limit to 50k/h"

Hang on... these kids were ripping skids... I'm not condoning it, yet there's far more worse things I could think of (eg. drink driving, etc).

I just left a comment. f**k these people shit me, they act as if they are the perfect drivers on the road. Never done nothing wrong on the road in my life yet back when they were 20 they were dragging for money down Victoria Rd in their hotted up Monaro's and Shakers.

I knew some people would think i am an idiot and say i have no idea.. Well without bursting out i personal life I DO!!!

I know laws are different state to state so i can't speak for all but if you keep you car looking in order then most times you will be right

and yes you will get the odd studid ass cop but not all of them. And on the power subject just a quick run down at least correct for QLD.

KNN Panel filter, Full exhaust, Good high flow cat, Twin Dump Pipe (CES), Good Electric Boost controler, Good Front Mount (Greedy or Real Hybrid)

Haltech E11 V2 or Greedy Platinum, Highflowed Factory Turbo.. Tuned properly(important) and you will get 250kw/atw and the rest and thats not to mention the torque..

And all the above you may notice is legal, does't stand out and still peforms. By the way maybe my comment on 400Kw/W was pushing it but hey i don't know,

if it don't look like you have riped all the polution gear off and its not loud, theres no externaly vented BOV. no unboxed pod filter most of the times you will be ok,

well at least the people i have been stoped with have been. But then it is qld so i don't know about other states, but i don't belive this thread was just about SA.

This is just my thoughts so every one to there own.

And for the record i am all for a nurburgring in Australia but just can't see it...

WHAT A CROCK OF SHIT

biggest load of shit ever , "victims of crime fund"

oh and out of all them cars impounded etc , how many were skylines ?

im dying to know.

mitch do u even know anyone that has been a "victim of crime"??

my ex from a few years back used to beat the absolute shit out of me day in day out........i put up with it for god knows how long and god knows why.......

im not saying that crushing the cars is a good way to support the victims of crime........but just be careful about what u say when it comes to things like that....i was put under the "victims of crime" title when i reported everything that happened.....all he got away with was he had to go do a counselling course and a small fine was issued (apparantly) not much for putting up with a constant beating every day for 13 months....

just think a little bit better next time...i know what your trying to say but think of others too please

people were judging you for being in another state 99gt? i was just assuming you knew nothing cause you own a commodore. just playing dude relax well all friends here.

too a certain extent your right but then again i know people that have been defected for nothing depends on where the dice falls that day. hell im friends with a cop that defected a stock car because the guy driving it was being a major asshole to him.

simmilar advice could be given dont drive in car clubs and dont drive with other guys in the car because they take it easier on you if your with your mum

i hardly consider it a consistant system some people have had bad experiences n assume its always like that. i must say first 6months of owning my car i felt a lot worse of the situation to now with a decent run of no real hassles.

According to my defect papers the panel filter you stated there would of been defective - "non standard air filter"

Is the exhaust below 90dB?

Boost controller - instant defect.

Aftermarket ECU - pretty sure they wouldnt like that!

HAHA well you know i did bring that on myself... But it is supercharged  thats something... umm no

No way is it a consistant system if they are having a bad day well to bad for you. I was pulled over a few weeks ago 2 mins from home it was a young cop and a old cop the old one rudly said license and breath check took my license and stormed off, the old cop let on the window breath tested me ( all zeros shoked cause i had a drink 1/2 hr before) and then while he was waiting for the young cop begain to say nice lookin machine you have here, fancy dash askin questions about my mfd and stuff, funny enough the youg guy still looked pissed he cam back with no priors.. lol older guy said to have a great night.

So you just can't pick them hey.

Exhaust is 86db last time checked.

Boost controller--- Never had a problem, they have seen it. It is used to run the car it is just adjustable thats the difference. You could run this of the ecu and then it would be no different to a stock. ECU and solenoid.

Air filter is a standard item because it fits in the air box it is just a differnt brand.

ECU is used to run the car does't stand out (hidden) how is it a problem.

Again this is only Qld i know the rules for and yes if you get a shity cop he will defect you for not shaving. But if it is something you can have you just fight it. If not well just wear it don't complain thats the main point i guess..

Boost controller and ECU - adjustable and aftermarket so it is defectable be it hidden or not.

I'm talking SA laws though since we're in the SA section afterall; and in regards to you stating it is all legal which it wouldnt have been over here in SA.

Thats fair enough at first post i did't relize this was SA section because i just look at active topics.. But still i was only having a comment at people that complain when the have obvious defects and get caught.. Never said the system was fair..

Spot on SLED emisions is what they always check here any way there is no reason a car can't have big power and be legal u just have to

get it passed.

Im out..

P.s SLED VERY Nice bike and O,,, one hell of a car...

i am so over cops atm, i have been pulled over for the best reason tho, for driving to slow on a dirt road he pulled me over and asked me every road for a mile, saw him coming ages away with his high beams on flying towards my nice clean car and covering me in dust then turning around and pulling me over. god i love cops

waa waaaa waaa....defect this n defect that... the bigger of a deal you make of it the worse it will get... If you drive a defectable car then prepare to be f**ked by the long dick of the law whether your being targetted or not. Everyone's prepared to spend thousands on their cars, how about spending 500 bux on a daily and not having to worry about it.

oops, nah i was refering to my daily cos thats what i drive 95 percent of the time

i better edit that thread cos its not for sale anymore

lol fair enough, was looking at ur av and thinking "mm that doesnt look overly stock" haha

    • A lot of what you said there are fair observations and part of why I made that list, to make some of these things (like no advantage between the GSeries and GSeries II at PR2.4 in a lot of cases) however I'm not fully convinced by other comments.  One thing to bare in mind is that compressor flow maps are talking about MASS flow, in terms of the compressor side you shouldn't end up running more or less airflow vs another compressor map for the same advertised flow if all external environmental conditions are equivalent if the compressor efficiency is lower as that advertised mass flow takes that into consideration.   Once the intercooler becomes involved the in-plenum air temperature shouldn't be that different, either... the main thing that is likely to affect the end power is the final exhaust manifold pressure - which *WILL* go up when you run out of compressor efficiency when you run off the map earlier on the original G-Series versus G-Series II as you need to keep the gate shut to achieve similar airflow.    Also, how do you figure response based off surge line?  I've seen people claim that as an absolute fact before but am pretty sure I've seen compressors with worse surge lines actually "stand up" faster (and ironically be more likely to surge), I'm not super convinced - it's really a thing we won't easily be able to determine until people start using them.     There are some things on the maps that actually make me wonder if there is a chance that they may respond no worse... if not BETTER?!  which brings me to your next point... Why G2 have lower max rpm?  Really good question and I've been wondering about this too.  The maximum speed *AND* the compressor maps both look like what I'd normally expect if Garrett had extended the exducers out, but they claim the same inducer and exducer size for the whole range.   If you compare the speed lines between any G and G2 version the G2 speed lines support higher flow for the same compressor speed, kinda giving a pretty clear "better at pumping more air for the same speed" impression. Presumably the exducer includes any extended tip design instead of just the backplate, but nonetheless I'd love to see good pics/measurements of the G2 compressors as everything kinda points to something different about the exducer - specifically that it must be further out from the centerline, which means a lower rpm for the same max tip speed and often also results in higher pressure ratio efficiency, narrower maps, and often actually can result in better spool vs a smaller exducer for the same inducer size... no doubt partly due to the above phenomenon of needing less turbine speed to achieve the same airflow when using a smaller trim. Not sure if this is just camera angle or what, but this kinda looks interesting on the G35 990 compressor tips: Very interested to see what happens when people start testing these, and if we start getting more details about what's different.
    • I know right. It baffled me. There's no way when the engine is off, key is in ignition, (coils are dissconnected aswell), also my sound system was dissconnected (I don't run any audio capacitors), battery reads 12.2v and with the 10amp fuse blown I was measuring 24 to 30v. The reading would move a bit from 30v to 24v which was weird. I took a pic of the multi meter reading 🤣: (This is a brand new single channel digital oscilloscope that also has a multi meter mode).   Before when the fuse was blown, I had one lead on the 12v supply (green/white wires) of that brown relay and the other lead on the negative battery terminal. When I turned the key on ignition (engine off), it would read 30v. Then when I removed that relay from it's plug and tried putting ignition on again, it would read 12v, but I think it's because it can't turn on the ecu now that I removed it. I asked Chatgpt and this is what it had to say:   Not sure if those theories would be possible but, any auto sparkies here? welcome to confirm. 🤷‍♂️  No idea, but if it happens again, atleast I know what type of issue it is, unlike last few months where I didn't know what was causing all my issues and I was just taking stabs in the dark to figure out what type of problem it was. If it does happen again I'm going to investigate futher and trace back the source even more and inspect more circuits. I drove it to work this morning and the car drove and boosted fine. Yeah I was thinking the same, so I've imported my back up saved map (which is the map that I saved when it got done tuning) back onto my haltech with the base fuel pressure set to 43.5psi.
    • Yeh nice, if your in melbourne could you recommend any exhaust shops in the east that do a good job?
