Project-Mu Time Attack Series 2009

I will post the individual events in the EVENTS section of the forum during the year.

Time Attack Series Classes:

Street Class, Division 1: AWD - Battles of GT-R vers EVO vers WRX vers GT-4 etc

Street Class, Division 2: Forced Induction - Battles of 4/6/8 Cly 2WD Turbos, Rotaries, Skylines, BA's etc

Street Class, Division 3: V8 Naturally Aspirated - Classic Ford vers Holden with some Toyota power

Street Class, Division 4: Naturally Aspirated (not V-8) All 4 and 6 cylinder cars including Rotaries

Race Class, Division 5: All cars that do not fit into a street class above. Outright Class.

Prizes:

At each event the fastest car in each class using Project-Mu pads, with a Project-Mu sticker on the car, will receive a 25% off voucher to be used for their next set of pads.

At the end of year, the placing finishers will receive 1st Place $100 voucher, 2nd Place $75 voucher, 3rd Place $50 voucher to be used towards the purchase of any Racer Industries product.

Trophies will be awarded to place finishers at the end of year function.

Track Day Support:

At each round Racer Industries will bring their race truck with a range of race wear, brakes, general race parts and consumables. Racer Industries will set up an area with tables & chairs for the comfort of the competitors and to provide a central area for people to ‘hang out’ and eat lunch.

Racer Industries and Project-Mu parts will be supplied at a discounted rate to Time Attack members. Discount rates will vary depending on the product but it will be healthy saving. Members would simply need to show their Time Attack Competitors card.

Time Attack Series Rounds:

The series will consist of 6 rounds. There will be 3 rounds on the Clubman track and 3 rounds on the Sprint track at Qld Raceway.

5 out of 6 rounds will count towards points. If you complete all 6 rounds you can drop your worst result.

You have to complete at least 3 rounds to place at the end of the year.

At least one round must be completed on each track (Sprint and Clubman).

A minimum of 5 laps (or 1 full set at a given event) must be completed at a round to be eligible for points.

Class Rules:

General Rules:

Nitrous prohibited.

Roll Cage Permitted in all classes.

The Vehicle must be constructed by a major manufacture.

The same driver must drive the same vehicle for the duration of the series. The combination of vehicle and driver shall collect points.

Modifications must not be made which reclassify the vehicle during the series. Points are not transferable between classes. If the car is modified and changes classification it will start with zero points.

A: Street Class:

Must have a rear exiting exhaust system with a muffler.

Must be road registered.

Must have OEM glass.

Must have OEM doors.

Must have both front seats (can have two standard seats, a race seat and a standard seat, or two race seats). Both seats must be functional (can be used as a seat).

Must have basic interior in the front half of the cabin. (Removal of carpet, stereo etc and liner allowed but not the dash)

Must not have in cabin adjustable brake bias / pedal box.

Must have DOT approved street legal tyres. Tyres must not have -For race use only- or -Not for highway use- marked on them. The tyres cannot be grooved slicks etc (See tyre register thread for further details)

B: Race Class:

All cars that do not fit into the Street Class and comply with the general rules.

Points Allocation:

1st = 30 points, 2nd = 25 points, 3rd = 22 points, 4th = 20 points, 5th = 19 points

6th = 18 points, 7th = 17 points, 8th = 16 points, 9th = 15 points, 10th = 14 points

11th = 13 points, 12th = 12 points, 13th = 11 points, 14th = 10 points, 15th = 9 points

16th = 8 points, 17th = 7 points, 18th = 6 points, 19th = 5 points, 20th = 4 points

If there is a tie in points at the end of the year, the placings will be determined by the following rulings, in the given order.

1. Best single point score at a round.

2. Quickest Lap Result on the Clubman track.

3. Most attended rounds.

Rulings:

The organiser’s decision shall be final. No dispute shall be entered.

Sounds very interesting. I'll have to look into it further.

Are screamer pipes allowed? What is the ruling on this? I read that exhausts must be re exiting with a muffler, does this need to be plumbed in to comply?

my 32 gtst complies fully with Street Class, Division 2 but i will be using semi slicks so just wondering what class ill be in

(not that it really matters as i wont be doing it for points anyway :()

Hi Zennon, semi slicks will put you in street class most likely unless they are those cut slick style.

Thats only for street class. Otherwise run in race class. You can have basically anything in that class.

is that final paul? a fair few cars in street class ran externally venting wastegates last season... But will with rear exiting muffler...
