Ok seems like a funny question but i am looking at converting my stock ( and clapped out ) GTR diff from 2 way to and reconditioned 1 way.

Does anyone have any information on how to do this please, short of this i will be sending my diff to Terry at award to do.

yeh i would have thought with a 2way in the front of the gtr it would understeer, i'm pretty sure its common practice to have a 1 way in the front, but yeh i dont think you can convert them, just have to buy the right center

Prey sure hes talking about the rear... The stock rear diff is a 2 way mechanical and the stock front is just an open diff. Dont think you can even get 2 way front diff's for the gtr...

some aftermarket diffs come with a key that activates the plates under load. the key is shaped like a triangle in a 1 way and like a diamond in a 2 way. I am unfamiliar with the stock centre but it must have a key of some sort. if you were to replace it with a less aggressive triangle it will lock the diff slower and more predictable under acceleration and not at all under braking.

here isa very good link about different mechanical lsds. there are pictures of the different keys down the bottom of the page :)

cheers
