Ok ppls need some help and input.

Curently my gtr is lightly modded 300kw i use it for alot of hillclimbs and im one of the top contenders for the legend of the lakes hillclimb, 2007 i placed 3rd outright in my stock gtr so i spent the year pooring money into her for it to melt a piston the wk befor the 2008 hillclimb but still ran it up the hill on 5 cyl because i was in a bad mood and i placed 6th outright only 2 sec behind my 2007 run.

now new engine time and 400kw goal, in the next fortnight i will be taking the old engine out and placing in a forged beast with some bigger snails hangging of it. but in 2007 i remember getting wheel spin around the top corner of the climb front wheel spin! at speeds of 200kmh+ whick is a scary feeling but ya just hang on and clean ya undies at the top, the car was lifting the front left wheel of the ground so what should i do or what is needed to be done?

Front lsd in while engine is out?

Suspension work ie sway bars ect?

i already have tein coilovers, camber setup, dunlop slicks, chassi braces and roll cage bolt in 6 point but still std sway bars is this my issue, i really dont wanna put the engine in to fine out i should have got an lsd.

yep if engine is out and you are serious about hillclimbs/ circuit stuff then definately do the front diff. go 1way or 1.5way. cusco make good ones. it will take a little getting used to as they require a different driving style but by all accounts the benefits are well worth it. especially if you are getting up to 400kw.

I have nothing worthy to add to this thread by the topic caught my eye and now I want footage.

This is exactly the kind of stuff I want do when I buy my 34 down the track.

Sometimes I wish I was a bit stupider with my finances and had just kept the R33 GT-R!

Footage or pics plz

PM is fine as not to disrupt this thread.

cheers who sells cusco diffs in aus? also do i need to get a trust front diff extension to deal with the head from the lsd?

for those that are interested this job can be done with engine still in the car.

We did my Cusco 1.0 way without too much trouble and the STD front diff cover was used...although i have a modified Trust one now.

Also had to modify my Trust cover slightly to fit teh Performance Metalcraft sump - guessing you are in the same boat?

For my 10 cents worth a front LSD is probably one of the last things needing doing, but a Quaiffe would be my selection.

Are you logging wheel speed as this will tell you how much of an issue you have and how much a torque bias adjustment will correct any issue. Also try & ensure the suspension is sorted before fixing things with the diff.

A front LSD does not need the engine out.

Sway bars look at the Cusco stuff but understand:

1 they are not adjustable.

2 The front Cusco stiffness rates are a lot higher than the equivalent Whiteline.

3. Maybe custom bars would be the go but try for hollow bars rather than solid for weight savings.
